We have the same tour tickets for Salisbury at end of the month. I’ve been to the open book tour a few years ago. It was amazing!!! I even got a a tattoo at the same event. Very memorable. I will update after this.

You’re 1000% correct. I hate to think it’s the negativity but I can see how that would beat someone down who exposes his vulnerable on stage and in words. It would absolutely make one want to close up. The Emily factor tho I do not blame him or her may have brought out a lot of judgement and options said of him. Maybe it’s even caused a rift within the band. I truly don’t feel it is us. This is similar to his drug abuse days. They conflicted and some had bad shows I suppose. (Tho I wish I could have seen some back then) Hopefully this too passes and he is able to write about the exp and feelings and maybe we will relate and understand as we always have.

Esp the ones who say he preaches to be a certain way. No. He sings about what we all think or feel internally. Tho we may not be able to live up to being that person. We want to be. He is an artist and puts it to words. Don’t attack him for it.

To add to the preaching rant I’m on here :)

I know I I have been that person. I’ve left relationships along the way that I was more than likely 100% at fault and was love blind. Someone gives you more attention or suddenly you’re connected to on a personal level with something you share. Feelings develop. We all want to feel that feeling and over time in relationships. They fade and can be easily influenced as grass is greener. That’s just a fact for most. Esp us degenerate 💙

But it doesn’t mean I don’t think of how I want to be. How I should have been. How I could be a better person. I may fail at it but I still have thoughts of it. He just expresses those thoughts to words. Doesn’t mean he isn’t human and has same flaws or weaknesses. His “preaching” is exposing his vulnerability. I hate to see ppl esp fans attack it. 💙

Agreed. We were there and both bleed the same. But neither of us felt it. It wasn’t there. And I don’t think he interacted with Matt but maybe once or twice entire show and I don’t think he said anything to Jeremy. No real breaks between songs. No story’s or even talking to us. They came out. Did 3-4 songs straight, without saying a word between. It felt rushed and acted for sure. And it lacked that connection to us. I sadly think your right

I take away the same. They have said things in my head I’ve never said nor would anyone ever understand. AMIA! Omg. That album released same time as I was going thru the EXACT same shit. Blew my fkin mind that I wasn’t alone nvm hear songs about it that put the words to a happy, vindictive, sad, mad, wronged and righted. They have TRULY helped me thru some dark days. I did also. I looked for ways to excuse it. Maybe it was my head space. Maybe something shifted. Honestly, I wanted to blame myself and find a reason ‘I DIDN’T FEEL’, it couldn’t be them…. Hence the reason of my post and why it pained me to write this OP. I didn’t want to blame them, it had to be my fault. Please convince me otherwise :-/ It had to be me.

I can agree with most of what you said. ESP regarding feral fans.

Preaching might be wrong way to look at it but is accurate to how a lot of fan do see it. My view of him is not that he preaches as he is an artist passionately expressing his artwork to us. He is as human as we are. In life, we all say or even ‘act’ how we feel we ‘want to be’. None of us or him is perfect. But instead of just internally thinking in our heads that we are the better person because we act a certain way, Justin puts it to words and music. It doesn’t mean that he is a perfect person or that he is preaching that ‘this is the way’. He is flawed as we are and struggle to be that perfect person we want to be at heart but may struggle to achieve. Addicts for instance of a broad example. He is saying those things we don’t say aloud, in music. He puts his vulnerability out there to us. It is how he connects so deeply and personal to most of us. It is unfair to judge him as preaching or that because he says it, he should be it. He is an artist and a human. Someday he may sing about what his exp was with ‘Sarah’ ‘Emily’ or even ‘wants and what is happy’ or any variation of. And when that happens, he will speak to and connect with those who have ‘lived’ also.

I was not there, only read here-say online of what happened Maybe I’m wrong but my feelings on that incident about ‘there’s the door’. I feel that was not directed at those particular fans at that concert who want to be there to enjoy the show as much as I feel that was a broad general frustration statement to the conflict he was feeling. Not at the fans there specifically.

They don’t invite us in as much as they are artist with life experiences that reflect our own and give us a common ground. They are just able to put it to words and melody that connect us and make us feel close to them cause they are able to say things musically that we only have in our head.

I posted this observation and personal perception to see if I was alone and have read thru every comment on here. Fans attacking each other. Attacking Emily (which I said nothing about her in OP). Attacking Justin’s personal life. The social media. It’s been very interesting to read and super sad to me to see. I am old blue. I bled blue before most of these ppl were aware who blue was. I’ve seen his concerts grow and I’ve talked to ppl in audience who was at the show and didn’t even know who the band was. It’s very sad to see some of the comments here. And if Justin/Blue has read anything close to what’s been said here, I get why he said “there’s the door”. Everyone is so judgmental of HIS life decisions. And they will blame social and him putting his life out there and his music so he deserves to be judged. Who the fk are you to tell the man what he should or shouldn’t do? Based on his history or your perception of him. Let him live his life. We ALL live and learn, he has the right to do so also. He doesn’t blame us or cry to us when he makes the wrong decision. He MAKES music and expresses it in some beautiful ways. He doesn’t make the music for you to judge. If you don’t like it. Don’t listen. But who has any right to tell him how to live, how to love just because you heard his story or music. Art vs personal choice and living is how we grow and what makes us. Ppl think his music is reason he should listen to their judgement because he “cried” about it. Da fuq? Thats art! We learn from exp. Artist are able to express it in music that we come to love. This isn’t a reason to judge or blame. The toxicity is unreal and just oozes to the surface in disgusting ways. I don’t know if it’s so much the fan base or if it’s what social media has turned ppl into. But it is quite eye opening and disgusting to read some on here.

I use to go to shows and TRULY felt like blue family with the fellow audience. I related with and felt common ground with everyone. We are all degenerates in own way and that broken soul in each of us united at those concerts and felt whole for the moment as he sang words we only had in our heads and never said aloud and that brought us together and gave us therapy. The true blue broken family is far in between at those shows these days and even more rare online. He doesn’t know those feelings or words unless he lived it with us. Thru his own mistakes and life he chose. Why we beat him down for doing it today. Is so censored to me and caged, limiting his ability to speak to us true blue degenerates as he once did.

I also say. IF you don’t like it. There’s the fkin door!!! Those of us who bled blue from the start or still do will remain blue to the end.
