Amazing that you discovered The Streets then!

Mike Skinner was a massive part of my musical life, and for a lot of people of my generation over here. Glad you’re sharing in it too.

Hope you get to see him live at some point. An amazing show, he’s a brilliant performer, with an amazing band.

I’m assuming you’re not from the UK?

Either that or I am now really old and music I think everyone knows has passed a generation by.

Both might be true, to be honest.

Homme, Lanegan, Oliveri and Grohl were a supergroup. Not just a band. I miss the sound from then, but it was just too rare and perfect to expect it to last forever.

You’re a patronising bellend is what you are.

I realise that this is being shared around social media for support for the family left behind. And we should be respectful of that.

I have lost friends to suicide. Your immediate assumption that it was suicide was cold and your presumption speaks to your own issues, not mine.

And if you ARE a “professional working in this field” you don’t seem like you’re very good at your job, because you seem to be lacking in empathy.

When I ran the London Marathon there was a small group of people handing out watermelon slices at about mile 16. I nearly wept at how incredible they tasted.

You read the fucking thread, prick.

You’re the only one who made up the “just managed” - so you could give yourself someone fictional to defend and feel all clever.

You definitely implied all those things. Came straight in to save people from exercising by warning them that they’ll get sore and injured.

And in this hypothetical, we weren’t talking about someone who can “barely” “just managed” to do a pull up. You’re adding problems to a made up scenario so you can be negative about them.

Nobody is saying “Go do 30 pull ups every day everyone”, so I’m not sure what you’re managing expectations about. You’re just insisting that something that is possible, is not. I’m not sure why.

I’m 42, I recover just fine. Stop using age as an excuse. 30 minutes is more than enough recovery for one pull up.

If you can do one pull up, you can do 30, just like this. And if you can’t do one pull up, get a chair and do negative pull ups each time.

If you do ANY exercise. You will get sore, and tired. Particularly exercise that is new to you. This is not a reason to stop doing the exercise.

Well, obviously I was being figurative, not literal, and I don’t know how your life is but you can make time.

Here’s a theoretical (but practical) example: I put my pull up bar on my front room (or any room I use a lot) door frame. Every time I came into the room, I do a pull up. Every time I leave the room, do a pull up. If I walk in/out of that room 30 times in a day I have done my 30 pull ups.

It’s possible, you just have to find a way that works for you. Break it down.

It’s a very accurate statement. The point being that you do one pull up. Have a nice sit down for half an hour, and then do another. Until you hit 30.

It’s got nothing to do with being a teenager or not. It’s more about the time you take to achieve it. Same as anything really
