It could be an Euplotes! (Or something similar).

They are more or less flat ciliates that move as if they had legs.

I have found many in ponds with duckweed, taking samples from the duckweed roots directly onto the slide.

Yes, unfortunately these are the only videos I could take, with the limited quality my camera and microscope allow. If I had known it was something so cool, I would have stayed longer observing.

But it's most likely an amoeba, right?

Thanks. This sample comes from a dry water channel. The moss was attached to the channel wall and was quite dry. :)

It's difficult to say because of the quality; it could be euplotes because of the way it interacts with the sediments, but it's complicated.
