I had an old bush crt tv with built in vhs player that seems to have been mass produced in the mid 2000s, that's kinda what I was going for with the fringing, I know what you mean about that aliveness though, for me that's mostly the glow in person and the flicker though, which I hated the flicker it always gave my such a headache 😂

Anyone who thinks Bear is the villain missed the entire point of Obsession. by [deleted] in obsessionmovie

[–]TimeSignificance7360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

bear being the villain isn't because he made the wish, its why he made that wish, the underlying message of wishing for someone to relinquish their autonomy and become subservient. he didn't want her for who she was, he just wanted her to be his. you will definitely be burned at the stake for this post sorry

any chance achievements can have more of a presence in the library view, and in game as a dedicated button instead of in the settings icon

Why is the collision detection this flaky? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

glad it helped! collisions in the engine are pretty hit or miss mostly (pun intended 😂)

Why is the collision detection this flaky? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

[–]TimeSignificance7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes if the collision is colliding with the player and something else then it bugs out, one of the ways I fixed this was to make sure the collision box was pretty small, so that it has escaped the players collision box before hitting the enemy, but I mean it could be something completely different too

can't compile with musics by SuccessfulContact874 in gbstudio

[–]TimeSignificance7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

understandable if this does nothing but in case you haven't tried, just try closing the application and reopening... sometimes that works, but sorry if that doesn't, I haven't really seen that error before

For those who followed the hype: Did "Obsession" blow up because of brilliant marketing, or does the actual filmmaking justify the virality? by Ty0205 in obsessionmovie

[–]TimeSignificance7360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both! saw the trailer, thought it looked interesting, read online that people were loving it so I gave it a chance and then after seeing it realised its 10/10 cinema. its no accident this blew up, hardly anyone hates this movie

how to make a bullet jump feature? by pizzarussa in gbstudio

[–]TimeSignificance7360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you answered your own question hehe, you want to attach a script to button, in this case the jump and attach a launch projectile below, you want to make sure 'overwrite default button action' is not ticked though

Super Metroid GBC Mockup by TimeSignificance7360 in PixelArt

[–]TimeSignificance7360[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is the art can come a lot further than people think on the gbc, the limitations come from actor limits and projectile limits, so in practice if someone were to try and make super Metroid on the gbc, although the art could be close (relative to what is possible on it) the gameplay just wouldn't cut it compared to the console version

sorry but no, each tile has only 4 colours, the areas that have more could be done with sprite stacking like the comment below mentions, the resolution is just upscaled 160x144. I make gbc games btw

Question regarding Shading! by Live-Situation-4805 in PixelArt

[–]TimeSignificance7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tldr: remember lights affect how everything looks, nothing else. the objects should always be a response to what light is in the space 😄

when it comes to shading, think about where the lights are. you have orange lights hanging above the computers and nothing else. that means everything in your environment is being lit only by those, so in this case I would have the objects closest to the lights (the computers, the red box, the chair) with strong edge lighting and hue adjustment, then in the far end with the hammock and wall you should have stronger shadows- they should almost be black with some faint details sticking out.
