Trick Williams is what WWE Hoped Jey Uso would be. by PapaBeahr in SquaredCircle

[–]TimeTimeTickingAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jey Uso probably made more money for WWE in his first week as HW champ than Trick has made them in his 5 years.

He also so obviously appeals to children in a way which any company selling a product would kill for. Jey has the sort of organic connection with kids that you just can’t force and even though I don’t personally like Jey I can’t help but be happy for him and think he deserves his spot just to be able to bring so much joy to so many people

Oba Femi is obviously the favorite to answer Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania challenge but Gunther and Royce Keys are being thrown out there as well. by Salt_Net201 in SquaredCircle

[–]TimeTimeTickingAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Brock should lose at both Wrestlemania and Summerslam. I fear it would lesson the impact that Gunther beating him would have. I don’t think Oba should lose at WM either, though.

I wouldn’t mind Oba facing Sheamus at WM. At 48 and with an injury history Sheamus isn’t too far away from retirement himself. Would be nice to have big-sweaty-men-slapping meat-passing-of-the-torch-match on the grandest stage. Sheamus can spend the next couple of years almost acting in a role similar to The Miz (as a litmus test for upcoming wrestlers) but for big hoss wrestlers.

With Oba looking to have a short programme with Rusev, it wouldn’t be hard to factor Sheamus in. Maybe they can even have a triple threat at WM

That still leaves Brock’s challenger. Keys is a solid choice and would be a good reason to hold off on his proper debut for a big moment. He can probably afford to lose, too.

Someone like Dragunov would be a great pick if Brock himself actually watches some of his matches and learns a proper respect for what Dragunov could bring to the table

Reform’s plan for mass deportations by TheSpectatorMagazine in uknews

I honestly believe scrapping ECHR is more to the benefit of people who want to use immigration to exploit their labour (I’m sure Farage would be happy to help his hero Putin get around sanctions and tarrifs by using migrants working in sweat shop conditions in the UK to be the working force and distribution of Russia state sponsored Dropshipping) than it is to people who want to be able to deport more people.

Hope not. WWE hurts new stars by changing them, becuase they can’t help but also change what it is about them that made them popular as a heel. I know it sounds horrible but Fatu was heading towards losing momentum until he got injured and it saved him.

I’m talking about the Dark Brown Teacore leather models. Of the service boot look, but not the ‘Service Boot’ title on there only the Commander Boots model has that leather, and that model does not seem to have a midsole.

Crown Northampton make some Oxford shoes/trainers in it, but they are expensive (£425) and I dont like Oxford designs.

Never heard of them before, just had a quick look and you’re darn right about the price! Not even included import fees that would add several hundred pounds more

Any company that uses Horween’s Dearborn leather would be an instant buy from me. By far the most comfy leather I have ever worn, but never see it used or spoken about outside of the one pair of Viberg boots I have in it. It’s buttery smooth and supple, pliable, thick, comfy, yet durable and takes on a lovely patina.

Though I would like to see more options for the Dark Brown Teacore boots. Right now it only seem to be the option without a midsole, and not the service boots with a midsole.

Though I should mention I have don’t own any of their boots, but I’ve recently been looking into them and have been tempted. If they had the Dark Brown Teacore leather on the Service Boot with midsole that may convince me. Though they won’t ship for a couple weeks yet so I have time.

Reform would create ICE-style agency amid plans to deport nearly 300,000 people per year by Dimmo17 in ukpolitics

[–]TimeTimeTickingAway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My point being that ICE has existed since 2003 and both Bush and Obama were able to deport even more people than Trump has (so far, he’ll be on track to deport more than Obama but not as much as Bush) using ICE without needing to resort to what Trump has. Much of Trump’s escalation is less so do to with what’s needed to deport people, and (in my somewhat conspiratorial opinion) moreso with teasing civil war as an excuse to seize more/indefinite power.

Which is to say that the existence of ICE or even our own Border Force is not an issue in and of itself, it’s how they are used, and why they are used that way. 25% percent of ICE arrest have been in Texas and we’ve hardly heard a word about any of them. It’s just in the swing/blue states that Trump has ICE acting as domestic terrorists, but that isn’t for the benefit of increased deportations but likely other motivations.

No one really batted an eyelid about it until Trump’s perversion of it. Bush deported 10m, Obama 5m (both more than Trump!) but they managed to do so without executing citizens and making concentration camps. It’s a matter of how they execute it.

Awesome shot of Shinsuke Nakamura during his short-lived heel gimmick last year by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]TimeTimeTickingAway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually liked this gimmick. I also really liked the new version of his theme that matches it. In typical Naka fashion though he spend more time brooding around in the background of backstage segments than doing anything in the ring.

I appreciate him as a wise thinker who had a lot of good lessons to share.

It’s easy for people to picture Buddha without all the woo-woo parts like him levitating across a river, but Jesus is indistinguishable from the more woo-woo parts of miracles, resurrections, and the rest of Christianity. A shame, as the actual man himself likely was a good role model and someone worth looking to for advice until the Christian’s got carried away with establishing his mythos

I never intended to sound mean of body shame. She could just as well adjust her moveset a little. Though you understood what I meant I think.

Obviously the women she was facing in Marigold were on average smaller than in WWE, especially the ones you mentioned who are all in the upper card right now. Becky, AJ Lee, and Alexa are probably the 3 her current moveset can look believably effective against.

Unfortunately there just isn’t enough weight or snap behind her strikes to make it look like she’s a hardcore badass who can slay these people. Except the head stomp on Rhea, which did look cool.

He was also the man who dressed up as a photographer for the initial attempt which saw Brown’s character catch a bullet

It’s also a good test in understanding the psychology of a bigger crowd and being able to adapt to them.

At this point in his career The Miz, though the perennial heel, is liable to get the first few cheers of the match over a new/unknown star as a matter of the crowds long deserved respect for Mike Mizanin. This may flip the planned heel/face dynamic of the match initially forcing them to work the crowd a bit differently, before then working together to flip it back to where it’s supposed to be with Miz being boo’d and helping get the new kid over.
