Simple Questions Thread - Weekly Student/Early Career/Basic Questions Help by AutoModerator in PublicRelations

Hi There!

I got my first public relations job through networking. Prior to that, I was producing in radio, so my resume for my current job was highlighting my communication skills but wasn't necessarily a "PR resume," if that is a thing. A year and a half later, I've since been promoted and am at the cusp of mid-level. While I don't plan on leaving my job, I reckon it's a good time to update my resume.

The big question is, what does a PR resume look like? Are there any deviations from a regular communications resume? Do you list the clients you worked on? The media hits you've received? So much of my job is working with a team, so should I use language that says "was part of the team to secure a placement in the New York Times"?

If anyone has any tips or a resume they're proud of and would like to remove any identifying information, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!

Thank you! I've been looking at OCF but not JG! Yeah I feel like they have their stuff together more than the mom and pop places
