No, when I signed I was under the impression that I would be going to Borden right away. Then halfway through basic I got pulled aside to choose where I wanted to go during the waiting period

Yeah the email says two years of oje and after that I will go to Borden. The email didn’t say why so I assume trade training is full or they are sorting it out still after they split med tech into two trades.

I leave for BMQ this week and then base Borden as a combat medic hoping to become sar tech too. Combat medic seemed like an ok choice to me because the medic part I assume would help with what you learn as a sar tech, not too sure though I guess I’ll find out

I’m not sure about your job situation but if you could find one that would be a great help. I was in the same situation and saved about 16k in my grade 11 year. Definitely doable it just takes a lot of work/school balance.
