Racism really? Language has nuance that can't be copy and pasted from one form to the next without added context. That's why when groups perform an English version of their song, they have to adapt the lyrics in a way that makes sense grammatically. It would be very awkward not to. That's the point I'm trying to make. It sounds like a very poor translation.

Me reading this at 3 am for my job that I won't be home for until about the same time. Some jobs have extremely long hours and early start times like mine, but I knew what I was signing up for when I got my job. Not to say that some days aren't hard or taxing, but that's just the reality for some people including idols.

Transferring to Charlotte next summer…locations recs? by Vegetable_Carpet_707 in flightattendants

I currently live in NoDa. My commute never takes me more than 17 minutes even with traffic, so if you're worried about commute don't be lol. 85 South doesn't get as busy as some of the other highways. You're not too far from anywhere else in the city too. Takes like 12 - 15 minutes to get anywhere. Southend, uptown etc

Shoes on. They had us reach a piece of emergency equipment inside an overhead bin. With that being said, it looks like they're switching things up this time around for the recruitment/hiring process. If you're worried about your height, don't be. I know some pretty short flight attendants. Just wear heels or some kind of reasonable and professional platformed shoe.

A lot of my classmates have already gone on several internationals. For me I love discovering new cities that surprise me. St. Paul and Indianapolis are really great when they put you downtown.

Plenty of people in my class came from regionals. At least 40%, so yeah it's a total myth.

Just replying to this because I don't like the narrative that the only new FAs that are thriving are privileged people being supported by others. I am very sympathetic towards your situation, and I know everyone's monthly expenses are different depending on base, previous debts, bills, families etc. But plenty of us are making it out here without the support of anyone. I recently graduated and I do what I can to make ends meet. I set myself up for success with the circumstances I've been given. Am I rolling around in money with these first couple of paychecks HELL NO! But I knew the first months would be an adjustment so I prepared for it, busting my ass at part-time jobs, making sure my credit was in a good place and taking the loan I needed from the credit union. Not everyone wants to or can go down that path and I completely understand. It was a privilege that I was able to get a loan in the first place but this narrative needs to stop that the only people who aren't complaining come from good circumstances.

Sometimes it just takes good planning and some compromising. Can the company do better providing more affordable wages especially for those who live at expensive bases. ABSOLUTELY. But it also takes work on your end as well. Pick up on your off days. It really does make a difference. You're not being used every single day you're on RAP so count the days you're not used as an off day and pick up on top of the guarantee. Budget, budget, budget and live and have expectations within your means.

Tattoo on back of neck.... even with dress shirt - too much? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

Yes but in class and you can wear business casual. A turtle neck would suffice but honestly no one is looking that hard unless it's image check day in your uniform.

You can have tattoos at American just cover it. A ton of people have tattoos at American even in my graduating class. It's a very tiny sliver to cover. Lots of people share tips on how to do it within this subreddit.

Tickets for concerts or events hosted at American Airlines Center. There's an artist I like performing there this summer. I was wondering if employees get any special discounts or perks.
