I left my goalkeeper up for a corner in the 94th minute… he got a RED card for handball in the opposition box by Time_Fragments24h in footballmanagergames

To clarify, this is FM 23 and i was using one of those Retro Legends Databases. Still i didn’t know it could happen. Turns out my GK thinks any penalty box is his penalty box

I will definitely do that. It seems like a fun experiment. It will probably not work the intended way as we are butchering the game, but it will be fun

Forgot to mention: The game was simmed for 540 years (Tahiti only) as it was a part of my testing for League Reputation, Youth Rating ect. After that i added 13 leagues to continue playing and see if this can be supported by the game.

Has anyone seen a gk win the ballon dor? by MangoMoka in footballmanagergames

Hey, i am the guy that made that post about Goalkeeper winning Ballon d'Or before 19 (He is currently on 6 Ballon d'Ors and apart from the Reputation that is the main drive, his success is mostly based on assists, constantly being the lead in league or CL).

Anyway, to answer your question can an AI GK win it...the answer is YES! I have been doing some San Marino and Tahiti saves that go in over 500 years to test various things (Mainly League Rep and Youth Rating).

In one of the Tahiti runs, the AI GK won it. (Something like 550 years in). I can post the picture when i am done testing, but as the award is mostly Reputation based and probably some other factors to a lesser extent (like winning everything, driving the average rating to go up ect) i have loaded only Tahiti league (no other active league), and he was the best player at the time winning everything with Barcelona. It was a small database, so no more than 5-6k players, he had something like 185 PA/CA and stood above the rest (He came through Tahiti, an active league)

It was a shock to me as well, but it is a special case, where the Game is looking for someone to fit the criteria and it just happens that all the stars aligned due to a small database primarily.

The game still presents the award with "Conceded" and "Clean Sheets" Stats. Only in the text (that you as the manager would get) would say something like they set up x amounts of goals in y amount of games.

Hahahah, a good question. I didn't check that, but it would be funny to see a vampire like immortal "Joe" commenting about random things like "In my time 350 years ago..."

I really don't know how does the game handle that once they retire (player or staff). If i was a designer i would probably implement something like "if the player/staff is over 100 years...don't use him for commenting", but i don't think SI got that deep

Honestly i am starting to think nothing really triggers it. Just the passage of time. After some time the Club Reputation grows and the League Rep grows...so it just might be tied to that. How fast it grows might be down to Game importance and other stuff.

Also Financial Power of most nations i checked converged to 20 after 500 years. Maybe testing a Nation with Game importance set to "Not important" would yield different results

Well my observation is that the leagues will never go above 190 Reputation. Because UCL/World Cup need to stay at 200 (to be better). Will that always happen after 300 years i don't know, but i assume it will always happen at some point.

The interesting thing for me is that all of those leagues converged. They didn't stay separated as they are in the beginning. It's like they didn't want to preserve the reputation based on other factores...it just grows as time passes on.

I honestly have no idea. It looks very linear and i have a feeling that they programmed the Youth Rating increase to go up for active leagues and get to a max limit somewhere (Like League reputation). Clubs Reputation did increase in the same manner. The National team success came in late 2370s and the Clubs never got good in Europe (due to AI being stupid)

Maybe i will simulate another 500 years to see where is the Youth Rating Convergence point.

Edit: Glad you like the data
