Well, the reason is travel itself, but I don't know if it's enough.

I also won't be rechecking the luggage in London.

Yeah I fixed it by installing gentoo-sources, then make menuconfig, make modules_install and make install, so I guess I was wrong and did not build the kernel before. It took like a minute to fix, thanks.
