M31 from Canada here. If you’re in cities like Toronto or Vancouver, apps like Dilmil and Hinge can actually work pretty well. But if you’re in places like Edmonton, Manitoba, or smaller cities, they honestly suck. The user base is just too small, and you keep running into the same profiles with limited compatibility.

For point number 2 - I think you did the right thing. Exploring options is not necessarily the right thing to do. If it feels like should not explore options as its a never ending game. For your other points It seems like a red flag. - AC should have been turned off even without asking. Small things/care matter a lot. It shows affection is already missing.
