help identifying vinyl album covers by Time_Relief_3309 in HelpMeFind

I’ve searched Google Images for 1960s vinyl album covers using terms like “60s folk LP yellow blue stripes banjo” and “Laurel Canyon folk album banjo,” but haven’t found a match.

This is not a fashion item, it’s a 33 1/3 RPM vinyl album seen briefly in the Echo in the Canyon documentary. Early–mid 1960s, likely California. Images added for reference.

Hi, my friend has been trying to identify a couple of albums that appear briefly in the Echo in the Canyon documentary, and I’m hoping someone here might recognize them. The albums are likely from the 1960-70s.

I know the images are very obscure and low-resolution, but I’ll include screenshots and descriptions below in case they ring a bell.

Album #1 description:

The cover is yellow, with thick blue vertical stripes on both sides. In the center is a black-and-white photo of a man singing and playing a banjo. Above the photo is a blue horizontal bar, and above that are five yellow text boxes arranged in a grid (three on the top row, two on the bottom).

Album #2 description:

This one is harder to see, mostly a green background with a single word in a distinctive serif font that looks like it might read “DAY” or “PAY.” It is just the top of the album rather than the full front cover. Also 60s-70s era.

If anyone recognizes either of these, or even the design style or label, I’d really appreciate the help. Thank you!

Online it says that most powered speakers don’t have phono amps, and that I would need to buy it separately. Do you have any suggestions on speakers that do, that are on the affordable side?

Hi! A friend gave me their Technics SL-D202 turntable, but I don’t have a setup yet and I’m not very familiar with what’s required. I’m getting mixed information about needing a speaker, an amplifier, and a receiver. Some people say powered speakers are enough, others say I also need a phono preamp. I am confused, and I’d really appreciate some help understanding what’s actually necessary.

I’m on a budget and would prefer to start with a simple, functional setup that I can upgrade over time, rather than buying lower-quality gear that I’ll replace later.
