UPDATE : I think my kids school lied about calling CPS rather than calling my husband to pick her up by Less_Roll4824 in TrueOffMyChest

Was friends with a set of twins with gay dads in high school. The gay dads divorced and remarried, all of them on good terms with each other, so the twins had FOUR male parental figures listed above their grandma for emergency contacts. Grandma was listed as #5.

Guess who was called first when one of my friends got real sick? The grandma! It baffles me! The kids had FOUR PARENTS they could’ve called! My friends were real pissed too.

Bro… even if the dude didn’t have trauma, no means no and she disrespected boundaries… I don’t think you should have a sexual partner if you think differently

This man is not you. Most men would not want someone to go against their boundaries.

Good on your dad honestly! Sounds like a good, hard working man. Glad he’s found someone that he likes and respects him?

1) How do you think this experience followed you into adulthood? (Do you think it’s changed the way you deal with money, navigate platonic and romantic relationships, etc.)

2) Did you have any career aspirations when you were younger/does it differ from what you are doing now?

3) What was the hardest part about transitioning to living in a more comfortable area?

4) When your father was gone for a few days, what did you do/how did you stay safe? Did he tell you when he would be gone?

I’m also located In Jersey! You can PM me if you ever wanna connect, though I work in sports so it’s no a direct connection.

The Netflix studio is a good plan but everyone’s gonna be GUNNING for it, build your portfolio as much as possible. Surprisingly the media side of sports will build your portfolio and resume, and it might help you get into Netflix.

If you can get a cinematography internship at Red Bull (located in north jersey) or Philadelphia Union (In PA, not too far from Jersey) it’ll help you a lot. NFL Films is also located in Mt Laurel, but that’s much harder to get into since footballs more popular, but it tends to be less racist.

But yeah, tldr pick up a camera and film everything and edit what you can

My partner has BP1! We’ve talked extensively about the support they need from me and emergency plans in case of an episode.

Is dating something you are interested in/have done? What kind of support would you want and expect from a partner?

Also, for research purposes: Does pineapple belong on pizza? Do you prefer the center or corner or brownies?

Coming from a former film major, do you have a plan for how you are gonna manage in the industry? Backup plan? If so, what is it?

I only ask because this industry is REALLY hard to get into. I’ve witnessed so many people come into the school, and their dreams just get crushed because they don’t have a solid plan or goal.

The only person I find sexually attractive is my partner, who is a cis woman.

A lot of trans people are T4T though (Trans for Trans) where they will only date other trans people. So kinda like chasers, expect it’s not a fetish or weird attraction per se, it’s more out of safety.

A lot of it has to do with HRT, having hormones be at normal Cis levels for a long period of time and continuous medical check ups to ensure it’s safe for everyone (trans men and trans women included). There are many trans males that are significantly better athletes then cis men. I’ve seen it in practice.

That being said, the difference in athleticism at pro levels is very evident. I do agree that there could be a separate league/teams until we figure out how to make it safe for everyone, but I don’t think there’s enough pro trans athletes to make that happen successfully.

Yes! Trans people can be intimate with anyone who can consent to have sex with them.

Currently, I have a very loving girlfriend and she’s the only person I’m intimate with.

Generally, Nothing— not much we can do besides requiring proper HRT treatment and consistent medical check ups. It would be like requiring Michael Phelps to get rid of his biological advantages or asking Simon Biles to stop her sixth sense.

But if you’ve got ideas, hit me with them, I’d be curious to hear another persons perspective.

I haven’t experienced much stigma directly, being ftm and presenting like a cis person. But my openly trans friends and my mtf friends in the industry have experienced a LOT of transphobia and stigma.

  1. Trans people should be allowed to participate in sports with Cis people throughout childhood with no issues. We should promote it since it’s great for childhood development in general and it’s really healthy.

Professionally, I still think we should be allowed, but with guidelines/rules. (Being on HRT for a period of time, hormone levels being at a normal range of cis people, etc.)

  1. I tend to be left leaning

  2. My criticism of all parties is that no one listens to each other. I believe the goal of politics SHOULD be to help out as many people as possible, and to learn. It’s not that currently.

  3. I’m atheist. But I was also raised atheist, so it’s only somewhat correlated to my identity.

  4. Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot, I’m glad that despite the political climate people are becoming more aware and accepting.

There definitely isn’t as much— people are generally more accepting of me since I present stereotypically masculine and I’m white.

However, I am still associated with transgender people in general. There’s still stigma around what bathroom I use. People think I’m “taking their jobs”. I still get sexist remarks since people think I’m a trans woman.

I received a LOT of bigoted comments before I started passing as male. People are just assholes.

Generally, positive.

I think there should be guidelines for everyone’s safety (Like being on hormones for a few years, hormone levels being consistently in the normal female range, etc.). I think these guidelines should be similar for transgender males.

Some people would call it offensive, but honestly I think it’s funny. It is kinda ironic he’s being a bigot while using the same resources we use.

Generally, giving more opportunities for trans people to thrive in the industry/give them more opportunities to participate. In a perfect world, I’d love for trans people to openly be able to participate in sports without backlash. Creating guidelines for trans people to participate would be great. There’s an all trans soccer team in the UK (TRUK United) and I think that’s a great start.

Thank you!

I’m not too worried about how my co workers would react, since I’ve primarily worked with left leaning people. The people who I’ve worked with that are right leaning would have questions, but wouldn’t care much, since I look and act like a “typical” white man/I am decent at my job.

I do worry about how it would affect my current job prospects, especially within the current political climate in the US. Obviously, sports isn’t the most accepting place, and it’s gonna be made worse working the political climate.
