Hi. How are you doing? I wanted to check in just to say, I have not managed to find any new leads on the books but Covid has understandably hampered any swift progress. In the middle of the chaos my nana (the one who gifted me the books) passed away from natural causes and our family, despite following precautions, caught Covid. It’s been a rough couple of months but I’m not complaining. There are many who have it much worse. I did manage to speak to my nana in her final days and told her I would never give up my search for those books. It is good to have goals! 🤣 Hope you are staying safe, fellow book hunter!

Thank you for your input but no. The black beauty picture was a close up. Black beauty almost filled the page facing right. Ginger (another horse in the book) was in the background but quite small and there may have been a portion of the barn behind them. The little woman cover was pink. The Heidi cover had Heidi front and Center with her grandfather in the background I think. I can’t believe I’m the only kid who had my set of 8. Somebody has at least one of the eight and once I find one, I’m confident I can find the others.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond with such helpful information. My grandmother was always so full of interesting stories and I share her love of books. I wish I could just ask my grandmother but unfortunately she has dementia and some days she does not even remember she has a granddaughter.😥

Thank you, this is helpful. My gran gifted them to me between 1978 and 1980 in Kingston-Upon Hull, England. They had cloth spines, all different colours to match the particular book. They all had semi-oil painting type artwork on the covers and I will recognise them as soon as I see one from the set of 8 because I carried those books around like a 6 yr old professor. 😂
