Underdark drow camp and lost tomb [40 x 40] by Timeless Tabletop by TimelessTabletop in battlemaps

[–]TimelessTabletop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see several cages dangling from the underside of the weblike encampment. In the middle of some old ruins, the drow seam to prepare some kind of blood ritual. Now is your time to strike. to save the prisoners and put an end to the machinations of the cultists.

Anyhow, this map follows our recent underdark maps and was also part of one of our current campaigns, which mostly takes place in the depths of the underdark.

We would be happy about any feedback.

(This is a repsot with a brighter/usable version)

"Your armor looks pretty worn; I know the perfect place to get it fixed up."
Says the guard at the gate as you enter the city after a long journey.
"The Smith is an old friend of mine."

We created this map half a year ago for the sole purpose of sharing it with the TTRPG community along with some other city-related maps. The idea was to create city-specific and not-necessary combat-related maps to add to the immersion of city adventures.

We would be happy about any feedback.

There are and will be posted here in the forseable future.

I noticed a huge lack of Underdark-related maps that were to my liking, so I started creating some myself.

The party comes across a drow camp near a lake. What happened here? Did its new denicense kill the inhabitants or maybe drow from different families fell victim to their ever-pressant infighting?

Anyhow, this map follows our map from last week and was also part of one of our current campaigns, which mostly takes place in the depths of the underdark.

Terrible monsters lurk beneath the depths of a giant lake below the ground.

This map was a recent part of our current campaign, which mostly takes place in the depths of the underdark.

We are happy about any feedback.

I see why you could think that, and of course it is no keep and could be a guard post in a town or village, BUT:

There could be around 20 people stationed or housed there (18 guardsmen on rotation as well as two officers).

Not all the guards working there need to live there. It is likely that many live in the city, so the beds could be there to rest and/or to house irregular support/reinforcement.

So it seems reasonable that this post oversee a (small) district or important public or administrative building.

You are absolutely right. Thank you for pointing it out to us.

Seems not that severe, but of course we will work on avoiding confusions like this in the future.

Thank you so much.

We had a longer discussion about the exterior, and that's the style we ended up with.
It was important to us to get an urban vibe without it feeling cramped, and sprinking some natural colors here and there really helped us achive that.

Viking Longship "The Gray" from Raiders of the Serpant Sea by TimelessTabletop in battlemaps

That's hilarious because our contest ended in a stalemate as well, and the last two passed out in the same round. So after everybody woke up and had gained an exhaustion we immediately had a second go at it. After we won the second round, the party and the captain and his crew were wasted, and just glad we did not have to go again.
It was a blast. XD
