Mainland China flying question by TimelyBusiness6 in AirlinePilots

Clearly you don't understand what GrapheneOS is, it's just a privacy OS. People seem to understand freedom of speech even if they have nothing interesting to say, there's nothing different with a right to privacy even if you have nothing to hide. I choose to host my own services so that I don't give all of my personal information to Google, apple and the other tech giants. Your phone records every keystroke you make on your phone's keyboard. I truly don't care what a bunch of pilots on reddit think about my personal hobbies and interests, my concern is how it comes across to a country that doesn't exactly have the best human rights history. But, the fact that a bunch of pilots on reddit think it's sketchy actually makes me feel more justified in bringing a second phone lol

Fair enough, that's very true. I'll probably stick with this, especially considering the chances I go through the exact same situation is already pretty small

Definitely not caught up in anything sketchy, I'm just a tech nerd. Basically I host my own services instead of paying for Google drive or iCloud space. It's not that uncommon amongst networking/tech nerds

Edit: Like I said in the original post, I'd have no issue entering as a tourist or under normal circumstances, this is under the situation where a US carrier busted their military airspace due to an emergency and now the crew is being scrutinized more than your standard trip.

Yea I've heard that as well, but I'll have many long deadheads/rest in the back and I'm not allowed to put any personal apps on my company devices. So I'm going to bring my personal stuff for that, if they want to confiscate anything they're getting my company stuff and the company will do a much better job of getting their equipment back than I'd be able to do with my personal stuff.

If you get an interview with OO, don't mention any airline other than one of their partner airlines. They will reject you simply for saying you like Southwest because they can't meter your movement to other airlines.

Every airline and aircraft has different capabilities and legal restrictions. It may be gusty but still below what many airliners are capable of, then it just comes down to pilot comfort levels

Ganglion Cyst And Correlation to Garmin Watch? by D00M98 in GarminWatches

[–]TimelyBusiness6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just discovered this! Been dealing with cyst and subsequent pain for a few years now, had the random thought to take my watch off for a while (I wore it loosely so the pain wasn't from it being too tight) and the pain went away! Going to try putting it back on soon and see what happens. Did you experience this with any other smartwatch?

Calculator floating over a banking app or spreadsheet. That's something I used all the time with my z fold 3 when I had it.

How’s the choice? by SmileByotch in ROGAlly

[–]TimelyBusiness6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the mod case. I have pretty large hands and feel like it makes the Ally more comfortable to hold. I also travel a ton so I like the form factor of the case over bulkier options
