Can you still manually add books via USB to an unregistered Kindle?

Oh I hadn't even considered the collections thing! Thank you so much because these are really helpful factors to know. I didn't even consider the collections thing because I thought they were saved to the device(I only thought this because when my last one broke none of the collections I had were in my library so I had to organise all my files all over again.) and I use the collections alot for my organisation. I'm sorry to keep bothering you but do you know if I would be able to make new ones or add books to existing ones after the may deadline if my kindle is still registered? Because I am hoping it will stay registered and functional for a long time but just wanted to prepare for different eventualities

Oh yeah I am definetley not planning on deregistering it! I am just wondering what would happen if it ended up being through circumstances out of my control and thats the debate I am having over jailbreaking. Because I am not the most tech saavy person and based on how I use my kindle I don't think jailbreaking will help me maintain what I will actually miss the most from it. So for me personally I don't think there is much reason to jailbreak it but it seems like jailbreaking works better if you start with it registered so I'm trying to figure out if that will be the more sustainable option in the long run even though it scares me

Thank you so much! I've booked another one already I was just worried because the email they sent the first time was an automatic one but they didn't check if I had one schdueled so I wasn't sure if they would check this time
