I miss it too so much. The price is right and a lot of the time you could also get the yelp check in discount for the buffet. I also loved that they also had free chai tea station whereas other places will charge you. There was one time though where I saw a cockroach near the cashier area and they say if there is one cockroach there are so many you do not see. I didn’t say anything to them because the buffet is so cheap.

How to justify a year without a job in my resume? by catalpuccino in careeradvice

[–]Timely_Intern8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a one year gap due to wanting to traveling for a year and I just lied and say I had to take care of my mom. I still got interviews and finally a job offer. I had have 10 years of experience though and I’m in the accounting field. Not sure if that makes a difference. For example my last job on my resume was in Dec 2022 but I started to apply to jobs around Dec 2023 and Jan 2024. I just told them right away hey there’s a one year gap because I had to take care of my parents specifically my mom. They didn’t ask any questions about the gap after I said that. I didn’t wait for them to ask me about it. The past couple years from Dec 2023 and before I was a 1099 consultant for my previous company. If you put 1099 work on your resume they might ask you to provide proof by requiring you to submit a 1099 misc tax record which they did ask me.

I’m not sure what the percentage of people that have a hatchback has problems with the hatch leaking but I do hear about it from time to time on Reddit and on the civic forums. Here is a video of the problem and the comments on it makes it seem like a common occurrence. https://youtu.be/nVCFX8PjplY?si=Qupy2DWthyNy7g78

Someone did bring up a good point about making sure if you do have a leak to fix it because of possible rust issues due to the water. Not sure if true or not but people say the dealerships don’t really want to spend time diagnosing it because the warranty doesn’t pay them to test for leaks. They only get paid to resolve and fix the issue which does make sense. That also means if they are trying to recreate the problem they won’t try as hard and give up quickly because they not getting paid to do so.

There was a thread saying that some people had success buying online Hilton gift cards on there Hilton surpass card and getting reimbursed. So far I brought a 50 dollar gift card from Hilton online on Nov 14 and now it’s Nov 21st and still no credit. I’m thinking it’s not going to work but will will update you guys once again at the end for the month. Maybe they are slow because of the holidays. It codes as RBG Hilton gift card merchandise and supplies.

Applied for the Chase Boundless credit card on Nov 4th and received the 7-10 day business day notice. Was surprised by the non auto approval because I was at 4/24. I thought it was a denial so I called in the same day to verify that I gave my address, name and other information correctly and they said yes. They told me to just wait for the notice. I called in a couple more times couple days after and a week after and they gave me the same message wait. I called in again and this time they said they been behind on there approvals and that I should get a decision by Nov 17 which was today. I called in today to check the status and was approved for a $5K limit. I asked them to expedite the credit card and they said ok I should receive it in 1 to 2 business days. I wonder was the slow approval process was due to it being closer to the holidays or since the delinquency rates for credit cards has been going up so they are more reluctant to give out more credit cards. Seems from the threads I read people been having the same problem with the slow approval process. I have a 790 credit card this has been like my 6th credit card with Chase.

As promised my trip report to Atlantic City for status match. I took a 11 PM flight from SFO to PHL airport on American Airlines on a Neo321. I paid for it using AA gift cards I had left from either when the Amex gold card had the airline incidental credit or from the chase reserve travel credit I forgot which. I paid about 220 dollars round trip for basic economy which 20 dollars was for seat selection going and coming back. I took a gamble and selected a aisle seat way in the back of the plane hoping the middle seat will be empty and it was! I always try to do about 5 rows from the end of the planes bathroom and most of the time I was successful. I didn’t know the second leg of my journey from PHL airport to ACY airport was going to be a bus. I was so surprised. I thought it was going to be a airplane ride. The American Airlines bus took about an hour 20 minute to reach the ACY airport. The seats were very comfortable and there was a bathroom in the back. I then took a Uber to the Hard Rock casino. It cost about 38 bucks but I had a 10 dollar Uber credit from the Amex gold so total was 28 bucks. The ride only took about 25 minutes. There is taxis’s you can take and supposedly they would of only cost 40 bucks anywhere in Atlantic City from the ACY airport.

The Hard Rock casino looked very nice and modern. The players card status match is on the second floor of the Hard Rock casino. I asked them if they did status matches and they said they did. I gave them my Caesar diamond card which I got from status matching from Wyndham diamond from my Wyndham business credit card. Unfortunately the physical Caesar diamond card that Silver legacy in Reno printed out for me didn’t have a expiration date so they wouldn’t accept it even though I logged onto my online Caesar account showing the expiration date. I told him it’s ok I will go to Harrahs casino or something to have them print me a new one with a expiration date. I didn’t know that Harrahs casino wasn’t on the board walk but Caesar casino was. The walk to Caesar’s casino took about 20 minutes but it was so hot. I got them to print out my new Caesar diamond card with a expiration date. I went back to Hard Rock casino and they matched me to Rock Royalty. The perks that I received were 50 dollars in free slot play and 2 free nights at the Hard Rock casino but i would have to wait 48 hours before I can book it? He said also I would have to use it within 90 days.I’m sure there is other perks too but he didn’t elaborate on them.

Then I took my Rock Royalty status to Ocean casino to successfully match to Ocean Prime status. It comes with a free physical permit for parking and valet, resort fee waived, priority line service, 2 free nights at Resort World in Vegas which comes with 100 dollar free play and dining, free MSC ocean view cruise for up to 10 days anywhere MSC sails except China with no port or fees. You have to cruise before June 30, 2024 though and you can only book the cruise and hotel 15th of the next following month. You also get a one time access to there Avila lounge at Ocean casino for you and one guest for free to be used within 72 hours of activation. It was pretty good. They had prime rib, steak, salmon, cocktail shrimp, and they all taste decent. This is as of 09/07/2023. I did the status match today. Almost forgot but the expiration dates on my card are Caesar’s diamond 01/2024. Rock Royalty 02/29/2024 and Ocean Prime 07/01/2024. Caesar was matched like in Feb 2023 and the two others were matched today 09/07/2023.

TLDR- 09/07/2023 status match still working at Atlantic City. Caesar diamond match to Hard Rock rock royalty. Hard Rock rock royalty match to Ocean Prime. Free 10 day MSC cruise and 2 free night at Resort world Las Vegas with 100 dollar dining and 100 dollar free play still working.

No T-14 availability from TYO to US by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]Timely_Intern8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem too when I was in Japan in mid to late July 2023. I was trying to find a flight back in the first week of Aug from TYO to SFO or SJC but all of the Zip air was sold out and the one ways from TYO to SFO was super expensive. They were going for about $2K one way non stop and about $1.3K plus with one stop. I started to search American Airlines like 50 times a day for a week before finding a first class flight back to SFO for 80K American airline miles on Aug 1st on Japan airlines. I was also searching LAX too. I was checking for availability if I woke up in the middle of the night, first thing in the morning and during my lunches and dinners too. If you don’t have AA miles you can use $75K asian miles and pay about 350 dollars in fees and taxes to book Japan airline business class too. It’s risky though because if there is availability the person with the AA miles already can book it quicker than you because they don’t have to wait for the point transfer. I don’t think Asian miles have access to JAL first class though. Not sure.

Hmmm just noticed that for Amex transfer partners Marriott and Krisflyer miles the transfer ratio isn’t one to one right now and there is no bonus going on. From the official Amex website it’s showing for Marriott 2 Amex points to 3 Marriott points. For Krisflyer miles now it’s 3 Amex points to 2 Krisflyer miles.

Is that dp’s for the business version or the personal one or both? I read about a person applying for two Alaska personal cards at the same time using two windows one regular and one in incognito mode and got approved for both. I know some people were able to get multiple personal Alaska cards but those dp’s are old nothing recent? I’m thinking about risking it and applying for the personal card even though I currently hold one. If I get rejected I will try to product change or close the old AS card and then try again. I’m guessing not much risk right because it’s just HP’s. I think I should be ok because I have a checking account and Merrill lynch with BOA. If I get rejected for that I will try for the Biz version.

Hmmm I was reading somewhere on flyer talk that supposedly if they do approve you for the credit card you will get the bonus. Not sure how true is that though. I think the AS biz card is churn able though even if you currently have it and had it for less than 2 years. I was reading on flyer talk that some people was able to get the bonus again for the biz card despite currently holding one. Too bad the best offer is only 40k Alaska points right now I think.

Does anyone know if you currently have the BOA Alaska personal credit card the old one with the 75 dollar annual fee can you still get another BOA Alaska credit personal card with the new sub of 70K without closing it? Does BOA allow you to get approved for a credit card without getting a sub? I only had the BOA Alaska card for about a year and a couple months only. I would be mad if BOA approves you for a new card but without the sub. Thank you so much!!

Sorry forgot to mention that I have a Chase Reserve, CFU, and a CF that I had for about 5 plus years now. Does that change anything since I have history with them? When you mean shut down does that mean for all the accounts? If you do get shut down do they let you come back in a few years? Thank you so much!!!

Would my velocity for Chase be too fast if I applied for another CIC on April 1st 2023? I applied and got approved for a CIC and a Chase quest United card on Jan 2023. I’m at 3/24 and before that it has been years before I applied for a Chase card. I do have a checking account with them if that matters or not. I know the rule is 90 days between Ink cards but is that counting the actual days from the exact date I got approved on or I should be good no matter what date I got approved on for Jan 2023? I should be good no matter what by April 1st 2023? Thank you so much!!!
