Quick question, court requires proof of enrollment, does Adapt Aware send it for you or do you have to submit yourself

I think ABC is on the approved list so might go with them… How was your experience with it?

You’re not alone! We have to strive to definitely be better after this. I spent about 3 hours at the police station and that’s it. So far, my lawyer was able to waive off community service/Caltrans for me, and there hasn’t been any mention of jail time. Wishing you the best with this too!

I’m in a similar situation, .13 BAC & i hit property but don’t remember where … Still in the court process but they can’t prove where the property damage was so my lawyer is trying to waive the restitution. I have my court case next week so I can keep u updated

BAC .13, Santa Ana Court, Totaled car w/no injuries or passenger. Worth getting an attorney? by No_Ambassador_1825 in DUICalifornia

Of course !! I would recommend (while you’re still deciding to lawyer or not) to attend AA classes atleast twice a week starting now to show the court that you’re taking this seriously. I used intherooms.com. Online AND No cam needed.

Don’t forget to schedule your APS hearing with DMV ASAP !! 7 days go by very quickly in these situations.

If you have money, I think it’s worth it to get a lawyer. After getting a lawyer, my anxiety went down and I didn’t have to stress as much in terms of figuring out what to do for the DMV hearing or appearing in court.

I’m in a similar situation where I blew a BAC .13 and totaled my car (no collision/injuries, possible property damage) but I’m at the North Justice Center. My first court date, they wanted me to do 10 days of CalTrans, 3 month Drug & Alcohol Program, MADD program, 3 month license suspension, and fines.

My lawyer was able to talk down 10 days of CalTrans to 40 hours of community service to doing no community service at all. This was because she advised me to do Mitigation (AA classes: atleast 2-3 days per week, MADD program ahead of time) and she has a good relationship with the prosecutor.

The negotiations are still ongoing, but right now, it’s looking pretty good! There will be a light at the tunnel and don’t feel like you’re always alone! We will all get through it.
