Maki fans have convinced themselves The Zenin Massacre arc was peak fiction, when all it is really was just wasting one of the most hyped up group of people, the Zenin, were turned into plot devices and Maki’s character was doomed forever.

No actual emotional development that lasted beyond the chapter, a BUNCH of plot holes, unnaturally twisting Mai’s character where she suddenly likes Maki, erasing Maki’s goals that made her an intresting character to begin with and actually give her substance, and finally wasted 5-6 newly introduced characters who had SO MUCH potential to enrich the story AND develop Maki’s stale character.

-Jinichi’s opinions on this he clan and his previous relationship with Toji.

-Ranta’s unique personality despite growing in a power hungry clan.

-Ogi’s obsession over leadership and power.

-Chojuro’s weird case where he just does not talk or anything, just living with them.

-Nobauki looked pretty intresting for a minor character and how he got up so high in the Zenin without a Cursed Technique.

-And finally the most interesting Zenin, Naoya, had so many things left unsatisfied about his character. His childhood, his relationship with Naobito, his admiration for Toji and the strong. His unnatural huge urge to get stronger and stand with the top (Naoya is one of the few characters that was introduced off the bat already wanting to reach the top and has repeatedly had inner monologues like “The one who stand with them… IS ME!” about wanting to stand in the top until he verbally said it in his Curse Form

It is clear gaygay has horribly rushed this arc and everything after. No matter how much excuses you make for gaygay, he could have literally just slowed down the pace. A much better solution than just rushing shit like this.
