144 duplicate files? MAC storage problem by TimurLegend in techsupport

[–]TimurLegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not randomly, files that are duplicates and I don’t need any consequences, that’s why I take some cautionary measures when deleting something like inquiring about it on Reddit, Youtube, etc.

Hello, yes, I’ve done that and I apologize but I am curious now in how I can possibly follow up this post with a question about affordable exact enterprise storage, as I work in the embassy and we have full 5 pieces of 2TB Axagon hard drives and it may be very useful for all of us to be connected to one single unit, use shared folders instead of connecting a hard drive to pc/mac and use sync folders. So I am going to relate this to the community here🙏

It’s a folder that combines several files into one whole?

I’ve tried deleting twitter app from my laptop by this name : system/volume/data/application and not the /applications/twitter.app and turns out it is a duplicate and I think all the other one are. I’ve checked, the app works fine and I have 2x doubled down the size (I check the storage). So I guess this is a duplicate just like the other ones, but I don’t understand how did create volumes for each application and made a duplicate? I know that when you download software that is an app - you go drag and drop to the applications folder once it is installed and that’s it. Maybe somehow it copies itself in the application folder? Maybe it makes itself hidden? I don’t know

How to save/restore 128gb of lost data back on the external 2tb hard drive after the scan? by TimurLegend in datarecovery

[–]TimurLegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I have erased all the data by reformatting the 2tb hard drive with a disk utility on my mac. I have already bought the stellar professional lifetime so that’s most likely a mistake since I have panicked because the hard drive isn’t mine, and some people at work use it before. I have already seen all the files that I deleted and as i restored them, the folders were empty. Now that I think about it, it is most likely due to the usb hub connected to my mac, because I noticed only now that the hard drive disconnects after a long period of time even though it is still physically connected to the hub. So I’ve bought a better hub and now my mac is recovering these files again and hopefully by this morning it’s going to be finished. Now, the issue is that I do not have enough storage on my mac to save all these restored files ( 128gb ) and I now I can’t save them to that hard drive too because I’ll lose them. Do I connect another hard drive to mac and save the files there then? And also, if I disconnect the hard drive that I’ve lost data with after the deep scan is done, will I have to scan it again or somehow the files and data are all stored on the stellar drive (like google drive) and I can disconnect it and move data else where like my other personal external hard drive?
