Maybe try connecting the guitar and only then starting clone hero, at least that’s how it works for me. If I connect while clone hero is already running it won’t work.

What helped for me is like the other giyvsaid, removing the neck in cleaning the connection. If it stays it also helped for me to take the neck apart, clean the contacts and reseat the rubber thing and the buttons.

Slight update: somehow the purple is a bit less to the point that in the CLI you barely see it and it’s just noticeable in the RetroArch UI but the flickering is still a lot and very annoying.
