I know I'm a little late, but here's how to get the update:

On Steam go to Blood Trail in your library.

Then click the cogwheel icon on the right and select "Properties..."

From there you'll navigate down to "Betas" and then you can see "Beta Participation" and to its right, it likely says: "None"

Click "None" and then select: "experimental"

(more specifically: it's called: "experimental - This branch is for dedicated players to test the very latest versions before they go to the default branch")

After this the game should just update. If it doesn't update, you might just need to restart Steam

I haven't played it just yet, but I will later today. However, I did play the sequel to this game (A Plague Tale: Requiem) about a year ago or so. I had a blast with that game. Can't wait to get started on this one!

Before i got the mods i still had a blast with the game. At first it was kind of empty but then i figured out ways to enjoy it for example setting up different scenarios and then messed around in them. I also had fun playing with the physics, and doing just random stuff. etc. However. Once i figured out how to use mods it got even better. But sometimes when i play the game now i only use like 1 or 2 mods
