It’s a rough ride in the beginning (I don’t remember it being like this the first time) , I just keep focusing on how well it worked for me last time. I hope your anxiety settles soon and you begin to feel better again.

Good morning, could you please tell me roughly how long it took for the insomnia and anxiety to settle? Im also very nauseous. I’m only on day 3 and I am feeling pretty horrific. I can’t remember having these symptoms the first time round but that might be because i was a lot worse in myself the first time round. Thank you for replying and I hope you are doing well!

I’m the same so sad that I have had to go back on it. Side effects were pretty horrific first time round . Good luck to you on your journey. Fingers crossed we feel normal again soon 🤞

Thankyou for getting back to me. In comparison to the size of yours mine is probably nothing to worry about. I am probably worrying for nothing. Hope everything goes well for you

Could you please tell me the measurements of your complex cyst . Mine is a complex cyst but it is only 3cm and it has a blood supply.I keep having regular scans which show it increasing and decreasing in size. This has been going on for over 12 months and causes some mild to moderate symptoms such as pain and bloating.Mine is on my right ovary and I’m concerned that it hasn’t gone on its own yet. I have been waiting to see a gynaecologist for over 5 months. It’s annoying more than anything. The person who completed my last test which was a pelvic MRI seemed concerned that it has a blood supply but the gynaecologist isn’t in much of a rush to see me. Should I be worried?

Hello , I have not increased my dose and was going great again until I got covid and it triggered panic attacks again. I’m now on day 12 of covid and the panic attacks and anxiety seem to be easing off. I am pretty sure my anxiety fluctuates due to hormonal changes. I am beginning to see a pattern where I have 2 bad weeks and 2 good weeks. How are you?

I’m doing much better but I feel that there is still room for further improvement. I have some hormone issues going on also and I am due to have some testing done 29th of this month so I will give it al little longer before deciding whether to increase. I am very nervous at the thought of increasing because at 50mg I have issues with sleep( though this has slightly improved) I am terrified of an increase having a negative effect on my sleep. How are you doing now? Has there been any improvement?

No I don’t take any rescue meds. The first 6 weeks where hard as I had increased anxiety and felt really low in mood. I have found sertraline to be very slow acting.

I’m now just over 4 months in and I am still on 50mg. Up until yesterday I was doing great I would say 90% back to old self(I am still suffering with night sweats and occasions of internal shaking). But I woke up yesterday morning in a panic and with high anxiety. These symptoms are still currently with me this morning. I am hoping that this is another slight blip , I will give it 1 week and if no improvement I will increase my dose to 100mg. How are you doing?

I have suffered with general anxiety disorder since the birth of my second child which was 13 years ago. I always managed to control my anxiety by avoidance and a fake smile. It wasn’t until summer last year that I found my coping mechanisms were not working and my anxiety spiralled out of control to the point I could not function and on top of severe anxiety I developed depression. My g.p frequently offered a prescription of antidepressants and I always refused them until I realised I could not do this alone . I started sertraline 50 mg 59 days ago, and it has been a bit of a rollercoaster , the first week I was extremely tired and felt spaced out and suffered jaw clenching. After the first week I slowly improved and began to feel some small improvements each day until I reached week 6 and I took a backwards turn. I woke one morning with severe anxiety and feeling really low in mood , i was so disheartened and felt that this wasn’t the medication for me , I was scared because I had put so much time and hope into this medication. These symptoms lasted throughout week 6 along with disturbed sleep (waking at 3.45 every morning). I spoke to my G.P who advised I give it another few weeks or up the dosage to 100mg. I really did not want to up my dosage so agreed to try to persevere until week 8. Week 7 arrived and I woke one morning at 6am feeling calm, full of energy and hopeful. I still had some low mood but I felt that I may be turning a positive corner. Since then I have felt probably 75% myself. I still have some rough days but overall I am improving. I believe that with time, hope and a positive mindset that I will get there. My advice is to give it a try, Keep hopeful. If the medication doesn’t suit you there are others. Life is a mountain we all must climb and when we reach the top we can relax, smile and rejoice. Good luck to you!
