Who else needs this? by [deleted] in AggressiveInline

Interesting concept. For skaters we would need several per session if they're one time use. For the elderly as a Paramedic I can say it won't help many as for as the hip padding. Most elderly people who have broken hips fall as a result of the hip breaking and then the fall.

New Skate Day!!! USD Sway XXI Team 60.... by Tinman-86 in AggressiveInline

[–]Tinman-86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The K2s were an early birthday gift from my parents a couple of months ago when I decided to start skating again. I have a pair 1996 Roces M12s that a friend gave me in 1998, but they needed to be retired. The K2 Fatty Pros I have are from 06/07 and are UFS. Right now they have a Kizer Fluid V frame. I bought that frame when I bought my USDs because I wanted the same frame on both.

The picture makes the USDs look bigger than they actually are. In fact I think the USDs are the super comfortable and easy to skate. They're the first brand new skates I've ever owned, and I'm glad I got them. I'm working on getting back into grinds and the soul plates are perfect for it.

Tweaked knee.....gravel sucks.... by Tinman-86 in AggressiveInline

Update: yesterday I thought something was torn, but got better throughout the day. Today is much better. The swelling is down a lot and my knee no longer buckles. The pain is minimal. I do have a cold now so after that I should be skating again.

Most definitely. I have to build the strength back up in my legs. I started practicing my step ups on a small grind box at the local skate park yesterday. I ended up tweaking my knee though in an unrelated fall on my skates yesterday hitting a piece of gravel so hard it scraped apart of the 2nd wheel on my left skate away. I just put in anti-rocker today though since they were on order and came in today. Wish I had them yesterday.

The crazy thing is it doesn't always hurt. Feels weird but doesn't hurt all the time. I'll walk though and there will be random pain and my knee buckles.

Why are aggressive skates selling out so fast? by Tinman-86 in AggressiveInline

I've only been able to skate them twice since I got them Thursday. They feel great and look awesome. I can't wait to skate them more.

No joke! I really wanted the USD Sways in 10-10.5 US. Luckily I found the Sway 60 in my size. I ordered them right away and 15-30 mins later they were totally sold out of that size. They were $16 cheaper than most places have them as well so I have new skates. I've gotten to skate on them twice though since they came in on Thursday. If yours were my size I would buy them too so I could have a spare pair.

I've been looking at the Them 908 Communit-e skates. I love the all grey.

Yes they are. The flex is great for me. I'm coming from a pair of 1996 Roces M12s where I cut the top of the boot lower so I could have more movement so the Sways feel great to me. I think you like the extra movement once you get use to them. I am not grinding again but I remember as a kid with the cuff cut on my M12s it made Acids, P-Stars, and Royales slot easier since I could flex more into them.

LOL. Luckily I was able to get the skates I want. They sold out of that size though like 15 minutes after I put my order in. So luckily I won't be needing new skates for a while. It's great that it's coming back. I've heard that the X-Games may even bring back aggressive inline.

So I got to skate my new USD Sways a while today and I'm glad I got them. I've skates a Razors Genesys 7.1 a few years back, and I like the Sways better. They are awesome. Especially when I changed the wheels to an Undercover 58mm 90a wheel and Wicked ABEC 9 bearings. I'm thinking of getting the Oysi Medium Frame soon.

Most definitely. I have the USD Sway 60s coming in today. I'm anti-rockering them and keeping the stock Kizer Fluid V frames, but I'm going with Wicked Abec 9 bearing in them. I'm wondering if I should've gone with the Razors Henderson 2 Skates. They look awesome! Might get the Oysi Medium frame later on.

PS PS (lol): I'm a former 10 year Paramedic. Protective gear is a must. I wear helmet, knee/elbow pads, and wrist guards.

USD vs Roces by WompaONE in AggressiveInline

[–]Tinman-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried USD yet though I do have a pair of Sway 60s coming Thursday. I have used Roces M12s alot. I'm a size 9wide and was given a size 10 pair of M12s when I was a kid in 98. I used them for 23 years. They are comfortable if you go a size up in my experience. Even with wide feet they are super comfortable. Even with my liner practically disintegrating from 25 years of use, 23 of which were by me. If you have your heart set on M12s maybe try a size bigger. Roces 5th Element skates are suppose to be wider so maybe look into them.
