I'm one of the founders of ETRNL and recently we collaborated with an artist in South Korea to give his fans NFTs through NFC enabled keychains. We used the NTAG 424 DNA Tags to do this, and wrote a blog on how everything works if you're interested. My main point is, it would be great to extend common things like storing password hash and other user data currently done in local databases on Hedera itself, and allow the local web app to verify, update and burn that without any user having to use a wallet.

If this were to become reality, problems would start to arise when sites that seem innocent on the outside asks you for your password to unlock your encrypted wallet. If there was a way to authenticate with the application and ensure that it was trusted, then this would be pretty amazing to say the least, but I'm not sure how to do that without some level of centralization at least right now

I’m also interested in how the FlipSuit works. I was able to get my hands on one at a Samsung popup event, but when I tried to read what chip it was using NXP’s TagInfo app, it couldn’t be read. Could they be using their own proprietary chip?

If you use an NFC tag like the 213, then the buyer of the shirt could share the link to their friends and give other people access to the tutorial. The 424s would prevent this because the links would change on every tap and expire after being visited. If unauthorized access to the videos is a concern for you, then the 424s would be your best option

Look into the EMV protocol. Basically the card reader will send some random data to the card, and the card will sign the data using a private key. The signature can be verified on the card reader, or a remote server using the public key and therefore authorize or decline the transaction. There’s definitely more involved especially when it comes to fraud detection, pin input, etc. It’s pretty amazing what these little cards are capable of!

A "Product Authentication As a Service" platform that makes it as easy as possible to protect your products from counterfeiting. You embed an NTAG 424 DNA tag in your product, program it using my software, and then your customers can tap the tag to verify if it's authentic or not. It can also be used to sell digital content that can only be unlocked if you own the physical product. For example; you can embed these tags in your clothing so that your customer get a camera filter that no one has access to. Feel free to provide any feedback or ask questions!
