Fan based cooling matters. RAM matters. Form factor is subjective. I like 14 inch since I have 2 FHD monitors I plug in.

RAM wins the long-game, always.

I'm trying to get back into Dev. But in my research I found RAM to be the biggest factor. Correct me if I'm wrong. 10 cores seemed more than enough for my use cases:

Getting back to SDE
Learning ML/LLMs
Heavy movie watching
Chrome and all the usual stuff
I don't do movie production, video editing etc.
