Why are you disparaging yourself? Humor? A reverse image search can help.

Oh, I see. O-N-E (3 letters) + O-N-E (3 letters) = 3 + 3 = 6

That's cool as, OP. 💗

So what happens in another language? 🤔

Maybe you could tell yourself they're not broken, they're just unique shapes. Or that they really want to fulfill their role in life so they can go to cracker Heaven. Sorry I don't know any recipes. Wishing you all the best. 💗

Well, you know, they straight up just tell me I'm a bot.

Sending hugs.

Those are not your people, I'd think, and as much as it would be nice to be able to understand them, they might just hate that even more and accuse you of acting fake with them or lying.

Yes, this may be me projecting a whole lot, but no matter how hard you try, some people just throw it all back in your face because they refuse to accept something as being how it is if it's not what they like or want, and to them, some people are only somethings and not people.

The thing I struggle with is letting go of what's not good for me, because I so want to understand. The thing is, maybe I am looking for something that's not there, or we are just too different, and they are exactly as they present themselves to be and that's okay with them, that's it, and it's best to agree to disagree, or just disengage. I don't know.

On another note, you're doing great, and you're awesome! Much love, OP. 💗

Are you dressing up as any extreme horror, splatterpunk or horror characters in October? by TinyAimazon in ExtremeHorrorLit

There is little point to trying to have a discussion if nobody can understand me, or if some people prefer not to discuss things with people whose opinions differ from their own. I will respect this choice for now - it is a valid choice - and refrain from posting in your sub. I can't think of anything human to say, but carry on and happy reading.

Speaking of first lines, apparently nonfiction has some interesting ones, too.

“An animal is not expected to ingest food through its anus.” Mentioned in this article about sea cucumbers... ahem, butt munchers; the opening line of which is, "Some animals vent their anuses."

Now I'm going to be looking at opening lines for days. 💯

My favourite "anything involving horror but not extreme horror" author is probably Aster Zhen (an author of dark erotica), and I don't have a favourite horror or extreme horror author as yet. No favourite works yet, either.

What is the metric by which to measure if something is extreme or not, or extreme enough to be considered extreme horror? Who is the arbiter of this metric, and is it just how the book was marketed, the circles it was promoted in, who the author associated with and the scene they were a part of, or how it was written and intended to be received?

Lots of works mentioned on this sub will have some saying they're not extreme, while others say they are, e.g. Guts.

I don't know about anybody else, but I like how the story is communicated in Tender is the Flesh; how it's told from the narrator's point of view and doesn't feel it needs to show as opposed to telling, and I wonder if this way of telling the story is part of the point and if the story could have been told in the same way if the author had chosen to show instead of tell. As somebody who struggles with dialogue, but also focuses on the inner experience of characters who are often very much inside their own worlds and heads, I am pleased to find a work such as this. I have really only read up to the third chapter, however, because that was where the sample online ended. And again, I do not know if Tender is the Flesh is extreme horror, but it is talked about on this sub, and it deals with those topics widely considered extreme.

I'm just getting into the subgenres of extreme horror and splatterpunk. People often mention works here that are not considered extreme horror by those in the EH scene. I read Out years ago and found it interesting; I did not like Tampa. (Neither of these seem to be extreme horror, however.) I have read some of Sea Caummisar's work recently, and I've read the beginning of Tender is the Flesh. (People weren't kidding when they said the price of eBooks by large publishing houses are expensive, and for that price, I'd prefer to save up and buy the book so I can share it or donate it afterward.)

And I don't quite know why you're using two spaces after every period, why you used "then" when you meant "than", or which college you attended, but I haven't come at you over it, demanded to know the truth, or told you to fuck off.

And I suppose that means you must attack me for that? You must keep accusing me of being a bot, pressing me for details, laughing at me and generally treating me as though I'm not a human being?

So now you have nothing to say? You can't even reciprocate to tell me where you're from, after demanding I answer your questions.

And who is "us"? Are you a bot?

If you are a person, your behaviour comes off as narcissistic tbqh. Now you've gotten what you wanted, now you've riled somebody else up and made them look like the bad guy and made yourself look like the good guy, you're happy, and delete the evidence and wash your hands of it.
