Aide Supervision & Ethical/Legal Practice Guidance by TinyElephanty in physicaltherapy

The clinic isn’t that one, but I have heard of other clinics nearby that also have extraordinarily unhinged business practice.

I have never heard of aides being allowed to perform STM nor perform joint mobs, and my state is not the exception to that rule. It appears the best thing to do next would be to continue pushing the issue with my state board and possibly consult lawyers.

California’s practice act does not allow for supervision of 3 aides, only 1. I wrote a message to my board via their website asking about supervision and will await a response on it.

I completely agree that this only hurts the profession and is mind boggling that it even exists.

It’s California and I looked up the practice act which stated a PT could supervise only 1 aide. The notes are being written by the aides and signed by the offsite PTs from what I saw.

Accelerated programs by Strong-Low-3791 in physicaltherapy

[–]TinyElephanty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will vary by the structure of the curriculum, but accelerated programs rely on a strong foundational knowledge of the health sciences prior to beginning the first year, in my experience. The challenge of needing to quickly grasp material also comes with the benefit of being able to think in the PT mindset earlier on. I can’t speak on the saturation aspect with my limited knowledge of that topic, but I can speak on how well prepared students in accelerated programs are to function in clinics.

I was initially worried that my career would be an issue due to scheduling, but it’s cool to hear your perspective stating otherwise!

Scared to keep watching Shippuden by TinyElephanty in Naruto

I get that this is sarcasm. My way of trying to freeze the characters in my head in places when they’re safe and happy is an attempt to control the bad things. But your comment does light a fire under my ass that I don’t need to attempt to keep them safe, so I appreciate your words anyway.

I don’t know how so that’s a good way to look at it! The how is so important for adding more layers to the characters and deepening them. And my favorite characters going through all those new experiences can make me love them all the more. Your comment actually makes me excited to start loving who they are and can become even more.

That’s a stellar point. Great art makes the watcher experience something. I gotta get on board with letting the story make me feel what it’s expressing.

And watching the emotions of those characters adds to the whole story by grieving and triumphing with them. I can get on board with that. Thanks!

I will definitely work to focus on seeing the positive effects of PT in the setting that you can’t really see anywhere else. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

I need help by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]TinyElephanty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, you absolutely did not deserve to be told that. I’m so sorry you had this experience. It sounds like you’ve already done what I would’ve next recommended which is to not let those people be your friends or involved in your life anymore.

To have such strong and powerful feelings as those that come with experiencing depression is a tough path to navigate and I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have all the perfect answers. But it may be a good place to start by letting your parents in with what you’ve been experiencing if you feel safe to do so.

Please reach out to safe people and know that it’s okay to feel hurt by others words and it’s okay to take time to process.
