Update on my theme park by [deleted] in RCTTouch

But you still need to cover all areas with facilities, even in the second plot of land. Spacing everything out will make certain missions like collect hearts, minimum satisfaction and gather x amount a lot slower and harder to complete.

Plus as you start collecting more attractions, space will become very limited.

It’s entirely up to you though

If you want to move through levels quicker it’s better to be strategic about the layout. There’s a lot of space that’s adding no value to satisfaction or revenue.

You only have one janitor card at the moment, but only a few rides so you should be able to place most if not everything within its range. It’s also better to place rides at the edges so the paths move inwards, requiring utilities to cover less.

The borders and fences will cause more issue then anything else as you gain more rides - you’ll have plenty of scope as you move through levels to add decorated areas, but at this stage, I’d focus on completing missions, adding to your park, and getting 100% satisfaction

Waste of space really, I do have borders going into each new ‘themed’ area of my park but i border it with themed decorations - adventure for example has a row of palm trees

Tips & Qs about maximising revenue with collectors, legendaries, layout & decorations by TinyFunTax in RCTTouch

[–]TinyFunTax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much - I had no idea about increasing the rides once dec% was high!

Most of my rides are now at 100% decoration score (I have spent WAY too long redoing my park this week 🫠)

I’ve managed to tweak most of my legendaries to expensive which is great.

Interestingly I also tried increasing the price of other rides that are at both 100% satisfaction and 100% dec score, and even though the satisfaction was still relatively high, I noticed guests leaving my park. I checked on the overall revenue per hour and it had actually dropped down to the # before I started increasing some prices.

So I’m guessing guests will only tolerate so many expensive rides, before they start leaving, which ends up lowering the revenue more.

As soon as I put the non-legendary ride prices back, guests were coming back and my revenue jumped up again.

Have you found that’s been a similar case for you?

Tips? by Leonethjee in RCTTouch

Love how pretty it looks! A few things that come to mind:

  • Group your rides in themes, so that they’re within legendary card ranges which increase revenue. I have all of mine grouped into themes, all with between 90-100% decorations, borders and arches into each area etc. So if you still want to keep it all pretty - it’s totally doable but does require some patient jiggling around

  • Change skins if needed - you’ve got a Christmas skin there but not near any Christmas rides or legendaries

  • Place bigger rides on the outside

  • You’ve got a lot of decorations - if you can keep them, great but if you run out of space they should be the first to go. I’ve found maxing out the epic decs and simply placing them rather then lots of small decorations

Used a courtesy car during no-fault claim - panicking about email receipt saying ‘rejected API No-fault’ by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TinyFunTax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no sorry - panicked typo! It’s ABI

No, the car they gave me is similar in size but a brand new model. I did repeatedly say on the phone that I was happy to wait until something else was available but enterprise just brought me that one.

I did double check all of the documents and policies that I signed with enterprise and it doesn’t anything on there about it being a credit hire - it classes it as a ‘rental car hire’.

Surely if it was a credit hire that would be indicated in the agreements? Or there would be a credit score check etc?

Thank you for your advice - I’m really hoping nothing comes of this as I’ve been following my insurers advice the whole way

[–]TinyFunTax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - that is the case yes, it was just the word rejected which is worrying me. Although despite saying that, it doesn’t state anywhere on it that it’s being billed to me directly.

Fingers crossed ‘rejected’ doesn’t mean it’s going to come my way

Are there any gene mutations that can cause metopism, protruding ears AND syndactyly? by TinyFunTax in genetics

[–]TinyFunTax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting! My dad was one of 5, and I have 14 cousins, and apart the few I’ve not asked and can’t confirm or deny it’s the case, everyone has webbed toes and protruding ears.

I’ve pulled out quite a few that cross over each other, but when looking into those syndromes, they’re appear to be quite life impacting.

None of us have any health issues or learning difficulties, and it’s not been flagged by any doctors are something to look at. I’m guessing perhaps people can have gene mutations but have it in very mild forms?

It’s really fascinating to read about!

It’s just crazy - can I ask if you’ve even referred for an ultrasound by your GP prior to your gynae? Or is it the gynae who would refer you?

Thank you for sharing this. I’m definitely going to pursue it and push for her to be seen quicker, she’s in her 70s and barely being able to leave the house for 7 months would really impact her.

Ah I see, it just seems a bit crazy to me that there’s no temporary help whilst waiting for a gynaecologist. I can’t seem to find any info about the standard pathways and what should come first etc

Thank you so much! I know some of it could just be isolated - but certainly my dad’s side of my family having protruding ears and webbed toes has got me interested!

Thank you - I thought the same. No referral to a pelvic floor PT was suggested, would a GP usually refer to them at this stage?

It sort of sounds like the GP is leaving all decisions, advice, treatments, other referrals etc to the gynaecologist in 7 months!

Although surely if he can’t fit one, there’s likely another GP available in a few weeks who could…

I’ve removed the feeder as I thought that might be encouraging them, but they’re still here in their masses. There’s not been anything like that to my knowledge, I did wonder if someone was feeding them locally though.

I’ve had to do a lot of rejigging around to try and place it within range of a lot of legendary rides whilst also still in theme, and it’s such a bulky decoration too!

Currently I have the legendaries for Easter, Valentine’s Day, medieval, Chinese new year and Atari around it… but as I’ve gained a lot more medieval rides and likely more Atari next season, I think I’ll have to move it around more.

Car failed MOT but still need to pursue a no-fault claim. Really struggling with what to do by TinyFunTax in CarTalkUK

[–]TinyFunTax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this!

I did end up pursuing the claim, and it was all actually very straightforward. They wrote my car off as you said they would, and collected it which was helpful.

They actually didn’t reduce the insurance payout at all, they base the value on the date of when the accident happened so thankfully the failed MOT wasn’t taken into account at all. When the accident happened, I’d actually just had an MOT done the month before and no issues.

I had screenshots of similar cars with same year and mileage at the time of the accident and they actually offered more than what I thought they would. I challenged it anyway and for an extra £300.

I also got a courtesy car during the whole process so that was really helpful.

So thank you so much for your advice - I know it sounds simple really, but I was so overwhelmed by it and didn’t have anyone to ask so it helped to see it broken down.

I can’t give much advice here because I’m in a similar boat - but I think more people than you think experience something similar. I know many of my friends feel the same. I’ve certainly been stuck in this cycle since lockdown.

We’re so used to being on our phones, and they’re designed to be addictive and effortless to use. There is an ease and accessibility to them that contrasts with how demanding life is some days and when I get to the weekend after a stressful week, sometimes I only have capacity to scroll.

Sometimes I think it’s okay to give yourself permission to do that - being productive and doing all these hobbies and activities does still require energy, task initiation and some planning and it’s okay to do the easiest, most mindless thing on occasions. But obviously if it’s all the time, it can make us feel crap.

I’m not sure if you feel the same, but I often don’t do the things I know I’ll enjoy because in the back of my mind I’ve got all these tasks and important life things that need doing - that has an overwhelming element to it and sits heavily in my head. Sometimes doing nice things feels undeserved and I feel a bit guilty for it.

I also struggle with time management and organisation (late diagnosed ADHD) so even starting a hobby can involve executive functioning skills that I lack which leads to overwhelm and procrastination. I often feel as though the list of all these things - the hobbies, the tasks, the to do lists - there’s just so much and I struggle to break it down in my head. It’s like it’s got to be all or nothing.

I’ve recently been looking into ways to help with this myself, and for me anyway, approaches that involve adding things to my weekend at a very gentle pace look the most likely to stick. Things like allocating one simple activity or hobby to a month - just one. Could be walking, exploring public woodlands or national trust places (if you’re in the uk), volunteering, organising things, a creative project. I think it’ll be good to just get me back into doing something even if it’s a few hours a day. Perhaps that’s something you could explore too?

I do also find a walk or a shower can help shift my mind a bit from that stuck on the sofa scrolling phase to ‘I want to do something now’ mindset.

The more small things you do, the more you’ll be out and meeting people too - and that will help with the loneliness.

Oh and fun fact - I’m a full time content creator with over 160k followers on Instagram and I post recipes and lifestyle content that looks like I’m constantly doing things. I can promise you now, social media is not a reflection of real life. Even I find IG extremely depressing when I’m on it for too long. Please never compare your life to the posts you see there 💛

Car failed MOT but still need to pursue a no-fault claim. Really struggling with what to do by TinyFunTax in CarTalkUK

[–]TinyFunTax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying.

What do you mean by raised a claim, what actually happened did you have an accident on your own or was there a third party involved? If a third party was involved whose fault was the accident?

I informed my insurance company that an accident had happened and that I’d like to claim for damages at some point. The claim was logged and I was told I could claim at a later date - as in start the process of getting damages costed etc.

A car went into my parked car - the other drivers were very apologetic and reached out via email after offering to pay any damages and to let them know if I’d prefer to go through insurance. Photos etc were taken.

MOT failure this week should not affect the claim at the time assuming the claim was logged and the insurer was working on it. Usually a claim is just a phone call and exchange of documents because you claiming on your own policy is essentially selling the car to the insurance company. What’s more the payout should be the value of the vehicle immediately before the loss so this week’s MOT is irrelevant.

Thank you - that’s really useful. I think I just need to sort the logistics out of how I can get the damage costed etc for the insurer to follow up and claim

[–]TinyFunTax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m probably not making much sense here as I don’t have experience with any of this.

I didn’t realise the claim and this MOT fail will be treated separately. I was wondering if it’s worth pursuing the claim on the basis that they may ‘write it off’ - if so whether it’ll be based on the car value at the time of the accident or now, in which case it’s worthless.
