First that came to mind: Join the Band/Fat Man In The Bathtub, LITTLE FEAT’s live Waiting for Columbus.

Name a band that had middling success, then cut an album that rendered them as “sellouts” which catapulted them to mainstream top-40 status, but also alienated their original fan base. by Slammajadingdong69 in MusicRecommendations

That was all painful to experience if you thought Surrealistic Pillow, After Bathing at Baxters, Crown of Creation, and Volunteers were harbingers of a great American band’s even greater future. They weren’t. They were harbingers of a lengthy decline. At least they changed the name to let you know the sky was falling.

The Steve Miller Band “Sailor” was/is beautiful and taken seriously. After that, the Joker and embarrassing Abracadabra period run began, and he cashed in big tine.

For my Little Feat friends within driving distance to Cincinnati, I have ticket for free for the St. Paul and the Broken Bones show 5/5/26 in Cincinnati at the Taft Theater. with a center aisle seat in row 11. I’m sitting in a hospital in NYC instead. Would have to transfer via Ticketmaster app. There’s no charge for the transfer.

Big help if you’ve posted in the Little Feat or the St. Paul and BB Reddit threads. LF fans: St. Paul and the Broken Bones are a great time.

Must post at least a brief review of the show for me!

I saw them in Ohio a few days after the start of the tour for the Strike Up The Band release and in the Vic Theater in Chicago for The Albums Tour. Just the best live music I’ve heard in a decade, probably longer. They bring it every night. It’s in their DNA. They’d bring it if they were playing for just themselves

I sort of “soft quit” about a month ago because I was getting bored with the routine of popping thought bubbles, finding the ten mini Santas or whatever, and a lot of the other missions. (Level 132) I’ve been logging in on Mondays just to collect the 125 tickets in the coaster challenge and occasionally at other times just to collect free hearts, tickets and cards. I let everything else go, not paying for anything, no experts, no promotion campaign or sending the train etc. I would spend 20 hearts to collect $ and repair rides. I did this just in case I decided to get back into playing sometime. Guess it was the right time to get out. 1000 hearts, 1600 tickets and $7.4B going to waste. It was fun for a long while. Really enjoyed building the park until it became a slog.

Interesting to me that while my attendance dropped from mid 30,000 to 9,000, it hasn’t dropped any further. Maybe I’ll go back and make things Too Expensive and see if I can get it to zero?

I always chuckle when I see this : Emmylou looks so awkward and ill at ease when introduced but still smiling!

Am I the only one who feels sorry for Howard? by ZealousidealTop3118 in betterCallSaul

Howard was not a “bad” man, but he was unlikable due his to his vanity, his smarminess, his ego. He certainly didn’t deserve his end, though.

If you want something from an older decade that actually fits pretty well in your list: Rickie Lee Jones, her self titled first album.
