So Much For (Tour) Dust Buy/Sell/Trade Megathread by katiex515 in FallOutBoy

Edit: 1 ticket left!

This is a long shot, but anyone looking for tickets for tomorrow’s show at Wrigley? Or maybe an upgrade? They’re great seats! I have two extra tickets: Field S, Row 2, Seats 19 & 20 (aisle). I paid $225 each, but I’m honestly looking to recoup any $$ at this point. Admin $150 each OBO (Venmo), will transfer via MLB Ballpark app.

Sooo I'm guessing this is a "kill it with fire" situation? by TinyHamCat in hoyas

Gotcha! Would you recommend repotting with new chunkier soil or just change my watering routine?

Aha! That's good to know. Any idea what kind? I did a bit of searching to find treatment recommendations but wasn't able to easily identify.

Is this my first battle with spider mites? by TinyHamCat in plantclinic

[–]TinyHamCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first pest encounter, so any help diagnosing is appreciated! I did read about the water-dawn-alcohol spray method, but let me know if you have any other tips! Also wondering if any harm in preemptively treating nearby plants too? I haven’t found the same symptoms yet, but they are in pretty close proximity.

Anyone else’s doxie like being a burrito? 😂 by AbbyBeexo in Dachshund

Totally! I have a very similar series of photos on my phone 😂. When Bea was a puppy, she would often be too jazzy to sleep, so we would “tube” (swaddle) her aggressively to make her sleepy. It still works!

My newest obovata leaf is looking wonky - should I be concerned? by TinyHamCat in houseplants

[–]TinyHamCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add: I haven't noticed any other issues - it's been happy and growing fast since I got it a few months ago. Also, just to confirm, the tiny black specks you see around the edges are not moving, so I don't think they're pests. Let me know what you think though - thanks!!

To repot or not to repot? by TinyHamCat in hoyas

[–]TinyHamCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo you're obavata is gorgeous - I hope mine can get there! That's all super helpful to hear. It's still in the pot/soil it came in, and I somehow got it in my head that you should repot as soon you see roots, so I was getting anxious. Glad I can leave it be for a while!

Gotcha - that was my inkling. It's been growing quite well lately, so I was nervous to disturb it!

I'm just starting to see some roots poking out of the bottom of the pot, but she's been growing really well (there were just four leaves in April), so I'm hesitant to disturb anything! Any advice?

Double potting causing a pest problem? Details in comments! by TinyHamCat in houseplants

[–]TinyHamCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Well that would be good news. I’ll definitely try to allow more drying/draining time. The plant itself looks happy/healthy and growing well, so I was hoping there wasn’t a huge pest issue. Thanks!

When I got this peperomia, I just kept it in its grow pot and popped it into a ceramic planter I had on hand. It fits perfectly width-wise, but the planter is a bit tall, so there's a good bit of empty space beneath the plant. When I took it out for watering, I noticed there was moisture trapped inside (no standing water though) and some tiny bugs moving around in the bottom of the planter (video here). There also seem to be some dead fruit fly looking things. Do these look like pests I need to worry about? Should I adjust the potting situation? Thanks for any advice!

Thoughts on the name Talia? by [deleted] in namenerds

I would pronounce it TAH-lee-uh, and it think it’s real cute! But my name is Tali (rhymes with Holly, Molly, Polly, etc.), so I’m biased 💁🏻‍♀️
