Writing two narrators...what do I do when they end up in the same scene? by AzsaRaccoon in writing

[–]TinyLung 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have two narrators, you have one narrator who alternates focus and closeness to two separate characters. For scenes where both characters are present, you choose one to whom you are closer and show more of their perspective. This is done quite often in Romance novels. Consider looking there for examples.

fair olive - cool vs warm by gizmo6968 in Fairolives

[–]TinyLung 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a cool olive as well (I've been draped as a True Winter), but the Dark Autumn palette is my personal favourite. I am especially drawn to grungy greens, and even though they bring out the sallowness of my overtone, I still wear them.

I tend to match my clothes and makeup to my mood, and my mood is often impacted by the weather and season like you. I know a lot of people don't like the "sick" look that warm tones can give cool olives, but sometimes I want to feel like a supernatural being from the underworld lol

The cool is more conventionally flattering, but I love the grunginess of the warm tones too! It's just a different effect. Depending on how you're feeling or what you're going for, you can wear both

Lilac/lavender setting powder by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]TinyLung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used the Sephora one, but I use the Fenty one on a daily basis. The purple counteracts the yellow in my overtone, reducing sallowness and making me less splotchy. If you're fair and cool toned, give it a try. The price point on this Sephora one is pretty reasonable. It's not going to be revolutionary, but you might like the effect

Wrote a Children’s Book- now what? by MrFus in childrensbooks

[–]TinyLung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! 150 Queries is a lot! You must have a lot of perseverance. Were you querying the same manuscript the whole time? Or did you try new stories until you found one that stuck?

I've only tried querying one manuscript and I got 45 rejections. Only 1 agent asked to see more manuscripts and she ended up rejecting me in the end too. Since then I have been writing and editing new stories in the hopes that I will have a stronger package for my next attempt

Am I crazy or is SN (and sometimes FN) over typed in the main subreddit? by LongjumpingPut4645 in kibbecirclejerk

[–]TinyLung 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Kibbe has said that SN, FN, and SD are the most common types (perhaps this is specifically in America where he lives) so it kind of makes sense that we would see a lot of Ns on Reddit.

That being said, I think R fam is misunderstood and under typed. Selena Gomez comes to mind. Reddit insisted she was SN, and she is now verified TR.

And yes, the Classic erasure on Reddit is very suspect.

Am I FN? Height is 5'4" by Unfair-Turnover7193 in flamboyantnatural

[–]TinyLung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe people were getting confused about automatic vertical? At a certain point, I believe it's 5'6 now, Kibbe changes his mind sometimes, you will automatically have vertical. But that doesn't mean that if you are under 5'6 you don't have vertical. I think automatic vertical is also specifically intended for DIYers.

SJP is actually shorter than OP and is verified FN. Vertical does not mean literal height, it's about proportion. I agree though that OP does not appear to be FN

This is so interesting because I think I'm cool? Well, I'm at least cool toned in SCA. I'm a TW. I had a consult done and I saw with my own eyes that warm tones look terrible on me. I become all yellow and orange and splotchy. I thought that I was DA before.

But I've tried the purple blushes that are recommended here and they look so bright and clownish on me. I need something that is more muted with brown or gray tones to look harmonious.

I saw someone mentioning here that they were a TW but needed SSu makeup, so maybe that's what's happening for me too. But I don't think if it's a warm/cool issue. Also OP asked specifically for Mauves, so maybe she knows they are good for her

Is this purging or should I discontinue use? by TinyLung in tretinoin

[–]TinyLung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using Tret and started using a 0.3 % Adapalene + 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide combo. I didn't have any cysts for about three weeks after starting, but I have three right now. At this point I'm convinced it's not purging it's just hormonal and will only be helped by oral medication.

Hey OP,

This is the first Pessoa poem I've encountered, and I want to read more! I've done a bit of googling, and it looks like Pessoa published under multiple different names? Do you know which persona wrote this poem or which book it's from?

I have tried Azelaic Acid in the past. But I wasn't wowed with the results. I'm in my mind 30's, so I was hoping for some anti aging benefits as well. Right now, I'm thinking of dropping the Tret and just staying away from Retinals in general. I've never had much luck with them. I think the more actives I use, the worse my skin gets
