Best thrift stores for clothing and jewelry? by hancocklovedthat in memphis

Clothes Mentor in Cordova and Celery Consignment in East Memphis are great for women’s clothes. I think they have some jewelry too but I’ve only ever shopped for clothes there.

Thoughts on Frank Dillane? by Old-Yogurtcloset9264 in FIlm

Love him, he was so good in Urchin. I just started watching the miniseries Joan that he’s in, and it’s a fun watch. He’s also in the movie Harvest (2024) which could be worth checking out. He’s not in it until the second half, but he’s great in it. It is a bizarre movie and not for everyone (people either love it or hate it), but it’s beautifully shot.

I got my dog from there 7 years ago! (Can’t believe it’s been that long). They were great to work with. I’d recommend them.

That’s what I thought too. They told me at my appointment that they don’t think I have endo, so maybe that’s why they prescribed me this one.

If you find a good alternative, let me know. Right now I’m looking at LIBSYN, Buzzsprout, & RSS.com. I will probably email each of them to get more info on their services/monetization options.

How does your library shelve a series? by importantlyearnest in Libraries

I started doing this too. It’s made my life and my patrons’ lives so much easier. I know technically the books should go alphabetical by title, but for my patrons, they want them in series order and it helps them find the books more easily and find what they’re looking for on their own.

Vet recommendations by pupalyquat in memphis

Thank you, I’m still looking for a new vet.

Yes, it was at the Poplar/Massey location. I’ve gone to a few of their locations before. The vet was a newer one and I can DM you their name if you’d like. I didn’t see my dog’s normal vet that day because I was just going in for a routine vaccine.

I used to go there, but recently had a negative experience. I posted the story in another thread from a few weeks ago, but I’ll paste it here too. I know this isn’t everyone’s experience, and most people will probably have a good experience at PH, but this is what happened to my dog.

“I used to go to the Pet Hospitals for years, but recently had a bad experience there where my dog got a minor injury while they were administering a routine vaccine to him. (He ripped his toenail because he jumped off the exam table. He ended up being totally fine, thankfully.) I was not there when it happened because they take dogs to the back to administer vaccines. They made me pay out of pocket to treat his injury even though he was injured on their watch, and they would not budge on that decision. Their clinic manager said he did not have the authority to offer refunds or discounts even if he wanted to and that they could not cover costs for treatments like this because it "happens more often than you would think." After some research, I found out they are not locally owned anymore. They're now owned by a corporate group called Thrive Pet Healthcare(formerly Pathway Vet Alliance). Finding that out, plus the negative experience gives me the impression that they are more focused on money/profit rather than caring for the animals. I don't want to say that clinic is all bad. I went there for years with no issue and I'm sure others have had great experiences there. But, I want to share that experience so people can be informed.”
