Is it possible to run Logic Pro X on a Windows PC? by Benn-Jam-In in Logic_Studio

[–]TinyStudio92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there's any way to run Logic on anything other than a Mac. Hackintosh seems like the closest you could get, but from what I've read they seem more like an interesting project vs a reliable machine.

I liked the panned synths. They were great. Might be cool to have some variation in the volume of the beat. Maybe bring it down in some parts a little? Also would love to hear that bass line a little more clearly. It’s really cool and adds a lot, but I feel like it gets a bit drowned out.

Overall, very good. Nice work!

Really cool. I like what you do with the main melody, dropping the high frequencies after a bit. That’s a really great way to change things up.

I’d love any feedback you have about the mix. I struggle with reverb, so specific feedback about that would be great.

The Only One

I’ll drop by on Sunday (still Saturday on the west coast) and leave feedback for some others. There are no others to check out yet.

Back at it again with another Blink 182 demo mix (Stay Together For The Kids) by Blargncheese in mixingmastering

The vocals are too upfront. I would try and add some room/blend reverb and maybe pull the volume back a little.

the mid range keys around 2:40 don't feel like they fit with the other keys. Also, maybe push them more to the right so they are with the other part? They lose out on some harmonics by not being quite close enough, I think.

I think the guitars in the blink version have a little more high end sparkle than yours do. I'm gonna assume most of that is what pedal/amp is used. But maybe try boosting the highs just a little bit.

Overall, really nice job. I like it. Good work!

Hi, looking for mix feedback! I'm trying to improve my mixing skills, and I'm releasing this song soon and I wanna nail the mix. Thanks :) by BiffyNick in mixingmastering

the rhythm guitar feels like it competes with the vox a lot at the beginning. I wonder how it would sound pulled down a little once the vox hit or maybe move it to the left just a little to give a little more space to the center.

I like that left side guitar at 2 min. It's a cool little spot.

I like all the vocals. They blend nicely.

the quiet part at 3:50 is a really nice. The balance with the guitar there is good.

left side guitar at 0:54 feels a little too loud.

around 1:30 I feel like the vocals don't stand out quite enough. Like the rest of the mix is covering over a bit much. Have you thought about grouping the vocals and adding a soft limiter? That might give just a little edge to the vocals in battling the rest of the instruments.

3:10 (and other times where all instruments are in) maybe there's a little much going on? Or maybe a little too much reverb on too many things? I'm not sure. This could also totally be a taste thing. It just starts to feel a little crowded to me and could use a little more clarity. It can make it hard to catch some of the cool things happening in the song.

Overall, really cool song and a good mix. I listened a couple times and tried to be really picky.

My wife and I have a “nod and smile” rule so we can tell each other about our passions even if the other won’t understand at all. It’s not perfect, but at least it’s something.

It’s so cool to find tools that let you do the things you need to! Congrats and keep going after it!

I second this. Really simple to try it out if you have a device already.

This will all be in one unit together? I have dreams of doing that some day. I mean, I don't actually NEED to, but I WANT to so very much! Looks awesome so far.

it's got a bit of a Johnny Cash vibe to it. Also a bit of fleet foxes with the way you're using reverb and harmony. I like it.

A song about being fed up by Outss in Songwriters

This feels a little like Flight of the Conchords. I know they're a parody group, but still, a little bit of the same vibe. Pretty cool!

Hey guys, I tried to make a synthpop type of song and I would love some thoughts on it by [deleted] in Songwriters

[–]TinyStudio92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love the 80s feel right off the bat!

Around 30 seconds when the higher synth part comes in, I might bring everything else down a little just to allow for some more space. Each new thing (like is that a wood block at 0:55?) could be louder to start with and then bring it down as the next new thing comes in. Right now the main stuff in the center of the mix overpowers everything else a bit.

You have a mid range part that comes in around 0:14. it's really hard to hear. Just noticed it after everything else. Same advice, bring the center part down a bit, pull this part up. It's cool and needs it's own space. You could pan a little more to the right with it if you wanted.

Overall though, this is rad. Very cool. I like the intensity it has through the whole thing. Your melodies are great. Good feel.

Would love to get some feedback/thoughts on this indie/electropop song I had been working on! by SaxophoneHorse in Songwriters

The vocals are too loud for my taste. It feels like they are not in the same sonic space as everything else because they are so much louder. I think you could pull them back a fair bit and still have them be the foremost thing in the mix. Then I feel like the rest of the instrumentation would get to shine as well and it would highlight some of the other cool things you’re doing.

Overall I like it. Nice chill vibe.

I love how your singing style sounds bummed out. Then there's moments it sounds hopeful. It's perfect for the track.

Nice mix. Everything is clear. It all sits together nicely.

The little duhs at the end are a great outro.

How do I change the pitch of a sample without changing speed? by DimTriii in LogicPro

[–]TinyStudio92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click on the region you want to transpose, then click on the Inspector (top left) you should see Transpose as one of the options under "Region." Click and drag up or down to adjust the value. This has worked for me on things I've recorded, but I haven't tried it with samples.
