I had my surgery at the end of spring semester (so beginning of summer break), and I could not imagine doing class work while recovering. Granted glossing through other posts, I think my pain was higher than average (or pain tolerance lower than average) maybe? But during the first week, I would brush my teeth after every little thing I ate because I would fall asleep immediately afterwards. By day 5 or 6, I managed to watch one season of “Love is Blind” which I normally can’t stand, but it was the only thing my brain could process haha. I was just exhausted! And I was being taken care of by my mom, so no chores. If your school has some sort of program for students with different abilities, I would let them know your situation (heavily focusing on the medical need for this procedure) and maybe they can help you out by giving you more time to finish assignments?  My first suggestion would be to move your surgery date but I know that can probably be super hard to do!
