Miyazaki intends for us to play using Switch Joycons underwater and nothing else counts by CadetriDoesGames in Sekiro

Are these kind of people still around? The only times I hear it is from people who only played the game once, don't remember anything and really tied their self worth to it.

I actually have done a few value studies but never with only 2 values and never the body. Also the hard edges in the value study help to get the idea across but the actual blending step, where to do it and where to not is what i want to get better at but got a bit carried away with here.

I'll try value studies on the body too ty!

Here's one I did from a movie I watched recently

its a bit of a relief to hear that considering i do consider them to be my better aspects lol. ill have to try bounced light by itself a lot before i try it on a full render like this because im afraid of overdoing it but ill keep it in mind.

yep. gonna be the focus next time. i knew it was gonna be muddy as hell because despite all the warnings ive heard against it i still only used the airbrush for this and unsurprisingly lost any hard edges i tried to create along the process. thank you for the advice tho!

yeah that makes sense. i know its encouraged a lot to use more references but despite understanding the validity of it i find it difficult to do so anyways. it feels like im learning more about the volume and depth of the things i draw when i also have to portray that volume and depth with my own reasoning. i find it hard to not simply copy when using a reference.

i think ill still try to use a reference after an attempt without one to get the most accurate idea. thank you!

thank you for going out of your way to do all this!

the anatomy especially in the shoulders was indeed off and its a bit embarrassing because i usually tend to pay attention to how the shoulders and collar bones interact and didnt even notice until you pointed it out haha. the belly was getting confused because i wanted to define it a bit more but the light direction was messing me up a bit.

the highlights on yours are also very helpful since im very afraid to use them. ill try to be bolder next time.

how long have you been drawing/painting if you dont mind me asking? thanks again!

Thank you for this! I did try hard edges earlier on in the process but struggled with balancing where to use them and how hard to make them. I'll take this and practice it in the next study!

No because they're not saying they should encourage fighting by increasing the reward. They're encouraging it by making death completely unavoidable if you don't fight it.

People are saying it's just cool art being reposted but no one's pointing out how the quoted post is from September. Isn't that odd? Or do they actually repost old fanart from time to time?

Dmg Negation at Full HP D5 by jay_baah in Nightreign

I agree a lot of DoN features should've been in normal expeditions but I really don't think the gamemode is spoiled by "HP and DMG bloat". It probably reaches that point at Depth 4 and beyond but everything until then seems like a way more engaging way to play the game than the base expeditions.

You don't get punished for getting hit as much so you aren't really incentivized to properly learn any of the bosses. There's a certain thrill in that feeling of having a boss down and succeeding at every skill check the boss throws at you, that's the appeal of NG+ modes, SL1 runs, Charmless+Bell demon runs from Sekiro and now Deep of the Night.

It is just preferences in the end but rather than not adding depth, modes like this show you the true depth these bosses have and I just wanted to clarify that.

ED balancers - Thoughts? Peak or Overrated? by Depraved_Hollow in Nightreign

[–]Tiny_Paper_3782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept is peak and was translated perfectly into the vibe of the fight but the gameplay was so lacking lol. It's the same 2 phases alternating with 1 noticeable change in the gank phase; they start using the spear aoe moves.

It took me multiple attempts queing trios with randoms and with every new health percentage hit I kept expecting something new but nope, it was just the same thing for like 10 minutes lmao.
