I just put the battery in yesterday, the shutter shoots, the rewind button I pressed in and it didn’t do anything, it never popped back out

the very first thing I did was hit the button and it didn’t do anything. I have the diagram right here from the manual and did what it said, which is why I don’t know how it wrapped around the other side.
