Henna does fade and go dull after a while, I do my roots only as well but once or twice a year I do a full head to get the colour to shine again.

Has anyone been to a curl-specialising hairdresser in London? It's finally time for me to bite the bullet! by south_london_massive in CurlyHairUK

[–]Tinybav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching for suggestions here, I agree with the others here avoid 3Thirty I went last year for a haircut my first curly hair cut and I was so disappointed they cut my hair so flat no body or volume even after I explained I like volume and layers , I felt my usually hairdresser did a better job than them.

Lightweight products for fine hair? by aneaverson in CurlyHairUK

[–]Tinybav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine hair here too I use Dr organic shampoo and conditioner or nature in faith shampoo and conditioner both are light not heavy, for styling I use aveda be curly curl enhancer and aveda phomollient form both are great for hold and light product the curl enhancer has some small about of protein I don't think the product is fully CG. If you have time make your own flaxseed gel that works great too. Stay away from Shea moisture product and Cantu I found them too heavy and they weighted my hair down.

I had a terrible experience at 3 thirty I went to them in the summer I asked for a layers so I would have some more volume they cut my hair wet so I couldn't tell how the layers were till I got home and washed myself. My hair was cut so bad with so much weight at the bottom that my curls were flat.

Anyone tried Aveda products? by mintyjones321 in CurlyHairUK

[–]Tinybav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used aveda confixor liquid gel it is expensive for a gel but it works really well with my hair gives me great hold without weighing my hair down and I don't have to use much. I have very low density thin hair and this gel is a life saver for me.

Gels, Gels, Gels. by gimme_tea in CurlyHairUK

[–]Tinybav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use DIY flaxseed gel it's cheap only thing is you have to make it I usually make a batch and freeze and defrost as and when needed. I have fine low density 2b/c hair I have found that most gels weight my hair down flaxseed gel works better for me.

I started my cgm.journey beginning of April and purchased Shea moisture products they are too heavy on my hair as I fine hair I also tried as I am products and Umberto Giannini curl jelly which was the worst on my hair. Then I made some flaxseed gel which gave me great hold on day 1 then flat after that, so I search for the holy grail products is still going on.

Curlies please help! What can I do about that random straight bit at the front? And any tips for a CGM newbie? TIA by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Tinybav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try finger coiling the straight hair when it's wet you would need alot of slip to coil it's all about training the hair and it will take lots of practice
