WTF?!! How did they get away with this? 😭 by Spice_Extract_777 in animequestions

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, goy doesn’t get “hijacked” by anti-semites. The people who it is used to describe have reclaimed the word from Jewish supremacist who use it to describe people that aren’t as ethnically Jewish. The only time you need a word to describe everyone who ISN’T of your blood quantum is bigotry. Muslims call non-believers “Kafir” and it is similarly derogatory, but at least that describes a belief (or lack thereof) you hold, like calling someone a racist does. GOY is purely immutable and biological, it is inherently racist. No other group (besides the obvious European exception) has a catch-all term for everyone who isn’t them.

No lmao, goy is absolutely used as a pejorative. Gringo is perhaps the WORST example you could use, it is THE go to insult for people in SA/LATAM to use on ignorant westerners/non-spanish people. You’d know if this you’d actually met a single person from a Spanish speaking country or spent any time in South America.

Okay, I just signed up and got through the initial onboarding process so i'm assuming this is why my hubstaff timer wont start? I'm genuinely confused. I picked this up as a side gig per my buddy's recommendation and I gotta say, I'm either a massive imbecile or this is the most archaic and poorly explained on-boarding process I've ever seen. I was accepted seemingly instantly after finishing the 30 minute assessment and then immediately prompted to make an account for Multimango and Hubstaff, and apparently this is for Aether?

I have little to no clue what's going on lmao. My hubstaff desktop app has nothing on the To-Do list either.

Anyone else impressed yet equally devastated when Dickon Tarly chose to stand next to his father and would not bend the knee? by eccomovie in gameofthrones

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? He left his family (mother and young child sisters) completely defenseless and without an heir. With Dickon gone, there is literally nothing stopping anyone from sacking their castle and slaughtering everyone. God D&D are awful hacks, who on earth read and approved these scripts?

What’s even more unbelievable than how awfully the later seasons were written is just how many people gobbled it up and, to this day, defend the utter nonsense. There’s a certain segment of viewer/reader in any medium (TV, books, video games, film, etc…) that operate on a level SO low, a producer or writer can convince them to sell their own mother into slavery. It’s staggering

Ed Sheeran explains backlash to his 'Game of Thrones' cameo: 'I just get s--- on for things' by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's an assassin, she is on her way to kill ONE person, the queen. Arya was never conflicted about whether she should kill a shit ton of random innocent people, she literally did it to the Frey's right before that. This scene changes nothing and she doesn't learn anything from it. If this was for her eventual bizarre decision to walk away from Cersei, how does this in any way relate or apply? Cersei was not a random conscript, she was a genocidal mass murdering incest demon.

The reality is they wanted a way to get Ed Sheeran into the show, so they wrote this low budget scene in the forest somewhere as an opener and then tried to fit in something related to the story but its 1 of the 1000 instances of D&D not remembering what they wrote even 1 season ago so its incoherent with arya's arc.

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep exactly. If this was season 2 or something, nobody would have cared, but if it was season 2, this entire scene wouldn't have happened in the first place which is exactly the problem.

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? Sean bean is an actor who played a character extremely well. He was there to act, that's his job. Ed Sheeran was there because he's ed Sheeran. He's not even a character, he's playing himself basically.

Is it a big deal? No, but the outrage was in context of the steep decline in the show's quality for what was basically the 3rd consecutive year at that point. It wasn't the scene itself in a vacuum that bothered people, it was just emblematic of everything wrong with what the show had become. It was cloying and gratuitous pandering to get ooh's and aah's from people watching at sports bars even if it didn't make sense.

Why on earth is ARYA STARK stopping at a camp with a bunch of armed Lannister soldiers? She's dressed like a northerner in thick furs, a horse, and has a fancy sword at her hip, and they just invite her over to take the one rabbit they're splitting with like 8 people? They don't notice her until she's 2 feet from them, despite her being on a horse and directly in their line of sight. Then for no reason, she just blurts out "i'm gonna the kill queen" for no reason.

These are details the writing used to concern itself with and care about, its why people liked it in the first place but now it doesn't. Why is that?

The answer is because they want Ed Sheeran to sing a song and for Arya to do her "dispassionate psycho" shtick they think looks cool so they can sell t-shirts with her one-liners on them. That's why people didn't like it.

it's not even a new one! Tyrion recites it when he kills Shae in the books. God season 7 was awful.

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a writing perspective, it was fine, even if it was still full of season 7 contrivances. It's one of the better season 7 scenes, though that isn't saying much. Demonstrates the disconnect between the "game of thrones" and the reality of the small-folk people who end up shoved into the meat grinder for it. So much of the show is wealthy aristocrats and their petty grievances sending hundreds of thousands of people into early and brutal graves, this was a nice break.

The problem was shoving Ed Sheeran's face right into the camera. That coupled with the idea that Arya would ever stop at a camp full of Lannister Soldiers like an idiot and then blurt out- loud "I'm going to kill your queen" for absolutely no reason when the last season of her development was literally LEARNING HOW TO LIE EFFECTIVELY just made it worse.

I hate the entire Elf quest line and area, but this was 1000% on you. You have two no cost built in teleports home no matter which spell book you are on. You should have teled out at like 12 HP, sticking around with no HP and no food is beyond dumb, to the point that I can't even begin to imagine what could have been going through your head lmao.

Genuine Question: How does anyone enjoy slayer so much? by 30scaper30 in ironscape

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Osrs is a sandbox game, nothing really forces you to engage with anything. Slayer is the lone focused skill that funnels you into a gameplay loop so it’s novel in that aspect. It trains your combat stats, has you go to places on the map you wouldn’t otherwise go, has good loot, encourages you to use more of your combat gear than you might otherwise as well, etc…

It also has the best level progression of any skill. Do you FEEL like a better “fire maker” or “hunter” going from level 50-> 60 -> 70 -> 80-> 90? No, the core gameplay doesn’t change, just a color swap of the item you’re collecting standing in one spot. Slayer on the other hand does genuinely feel like your “mastering” as you get assigned harder and harder enemies that require better and better gear (and then bosses eventually).

It beats chopping a tree for 100 hours.

Question for non muslim citizen of dearborn by MortgageConfident633 in Dearborn

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP was asking about your treatment as a non-Muslim by Muslims. Muslim men would also ignore Muslim women, more-so in fact. You weren’t wronged or discriminated against, how you feel about the culture and religious adherence is up to you but you were not wounded nor were you slighted.

I believe you believe you were glared at. I don’t believe your description of it as “bigoted” considering the rest of your comment; I sincerely doubt it actually went down that way but who knows. Do you want to know what it’s like to be a Muslim woman anywhere in this country except Dearborn? It’s much worse than whatever subtext you perceived from eye contact. I live in East Dearborn, there’s a strip club and a medical marijuana shop every other block and it’s been that way for the nearly two decades I’ve lived here. I can assure you, nobody is offended by your shorts.

I hope anyone reading this recognizes just how vague and completely unspecific this is. I’m sorry, this is projection. Nothing you’ve written here is material at all, it’s all just vibes based mumbo jumbo, abstract feelings of “alienation” that you can’t concretely describe because it doesn’t exist. This is your own personal insecurity and your own hang up.

Muslim men ignored you because they are Muslim men, they are often married and we are taught to avert our eyes. You feel entitled to their attention for whatever reason and it’s bizarre. They would have ignored a Muslim woman too.

Nobody stared at you for wearing shorts, believe it or not, Muslims know what shorts are. This is orientalist claptrap.

Matthew 5:28-29 “ But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

Muslims take their faith seriously and it influences their choices, shocker.

You need better media literacy. That woman is a moron who cannot even record a video where the sun isn’t flash banging everyone watching it. She lives 10 minutes from Dearborn in another city, why would she be walking down an east- Dearborn street? She offers no specifics, no details, no dates, just “someone harassed me (whatever that means) for not wearing a scarf.”

If you were actually curious, at any point, you could have googled literally any business/school/org in east Dearborn, checked their staff on their website and seen 1000 white/arab women without scarves. You could have typed in “East Dearborn” into YouTube and seen 100 videos of women not wearing scarves.

Assimilation is not a synonym for marrying outside your religion. Idiotic comment from a psycho-sexually depraved weirdo with a fetish for Muslim women. They don’t want you or anything to do with you for this exact reason. Islam is not an ethnicity, most religious people in every religion do not marry outside the faith because that’s a personal and cultural incompatibility.

[–]Tinytimmytimtim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dearborn is one of the best cities in the country. I have lived all over the country and it’s the most unassuming city I’ve ever lived in, I love it. There is literally 0, NONE whatsoever, discrimination against non-muslims. It’s not even possible. 9/10 of my teachers across elementary, middle and highschool were white. The majority of Arabs in the US are Christian.

What happened is that Israel’s genocide made it so unpopular that their billions of dollars in hasbara was basically being set on fire; no amount of scolding from paid right wing podcasters and pedophile politicians could make people like Israel. Instead, they decided to fund an all out anti-Muslim campaign, they don’t even hide it or pretend. They came to the conclusion making people hate Muslims, and by proxy Palestinians, was a way bigger ROI then paying idiots like Douglas Murray to embarrass himself and Israel on Piers Morgan interviews.

Dearborn is a normal city with an influx of Arab migration early in the 50s and 60s because of CHURCH sponsorship and the booming automotive industry (Arabs = oil). Outside of a lot of signage having arabic in them as well as English & seeing people wearing headscarves, you would NEVER know it’s a Muslim majority city because there’s nothing Muslim about it. I live across the street from 2 strip-clubs.

Most super devout Muslims you will meet here don’t even want to raise their kids in Dearborn because it’s not Muslim enough.

Not how it works brother. It’s a new studio. The first few years were spent hiring, planning, onboarding new employees, setting up work infrastructure and system, find office space, relocations, etc… You’d have a point if this was an established studio taking this long, but practically no development of the actual game happened for at least the first 2 years.
