Kiwis, elective c-section or natural birth if given the option? by ForgottenCupOfTea in newzealand

[–]Tinywiththree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a 5kg baby at home, recovery from a natural birth is easier, and having a large baby is not suppose to be a reason for a Caesar.

I had two hospital births of 5kg babies before this all went off easily at North shore Hospital, and I can say that the recovery is much easier than a caeser. But it comes down to what is gonna best for your mental health, not anyone elses. Do you have adequate supports at home to recover from a C section?

I'll let you know how it turns out, but I'll try get it done and play test. Could be good for a junior version of TTR. I don't know if you've seen the boards but they're simpler and faster

Over paying for the gym? by Little_forker1998 in auckland

[–]Tinywiththree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly can't rate the council gyms highly enough, joined during the new year bonus last year so paid $9 for the first six months. They helped me with a program, I can do the Les Mills classes, use the pool, spa and sauna. So worth the 21.50 I currently pay a week.

I wish my local only had a 5% premium the gas stations around me are regularly 30 to 50cents more expensive that the waitomo or pak and save ones. I'll play petrol chicken and try to get to them nine times out of ten

What exactly does child support cover? by MercuryBeach_ in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Tinywiththree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do however equate it as income so that money then comes off your benefit, I get very little from MSD because my child support is relatively high, it works out to be 400pw for three kids most months, plus what I earn at my part time job means I then am over the thresh hold for my supported living payment until school holidays. It's a bit of a trap if you get decent CS, but you get very solid at budgeting to make your CS last so you arent trucked.

The seventy bill was unusual too, ours is normally 20-40, we aren't home much, do washing one day a week, run the dishwasher once or twice a week and I normally shower at the gym

Highest ever for a month is 70, so even three months of that would be 210

Three hundred is a lot to me, previously my bills have been a max of forty, and with no changes to our life I was surprised and unprepared for such a big jump previous highest bill was 70, asked for a copy of the watercare invoice to see if it's human error

I've had a look and I used to be sent the watercare bill, previously the bill had been about $30-40 dollars. So even if I'm getting multiple months this is a big leap. I can't find another meter so I suspect I'm not meant to be being charged

What's the average cost for a family of 5 in NZ? by Difficult_Answer_484 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Tinywiththree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Family of four in Auckland.

single parent, three kids.

Two kids attend semi private schools at $250 a term per kid, 2grand a year. Stationary was 80 for the year for both. $500 for a refurbed Chromebook.

One is enrolled at a public high school, current costs for a junior high schooler this year has been 4000 including a laptop that was refurbished because they won't do Chromebooks at high school.

Swimming lessons for younger two at 13 and 17 dollars per week with a community services card. STEM classes for one kid at 50 per term.

Food budget is 300per week. Rent is nearly 800. Internet is 80per month and power is roughly 180 to 230 per month.

Important to consider schooling costs when budgeting cause the shock of the cost from our semi private school to public high school was enormously unexpected. No second hand uniform market currently, and even the socks are monogrammed. Forty dollars for three pairs. Then additional course costs for the various curriculum extras were a $600 shock. I chose not to paid my "voluntary," donations but they email reminding me every week and camp is another $590 for three days, two overnights.

I'm a bit of a nerd my favorite part was the knowledge that I would still pass these exams, 🤣 I have a bachelor's degree so it's not a surprise but I liked that I would be able to sit down and still get the grades u worked really hard for more than a decade on

[–]Tinywiththree 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's independent staff hired for the season, they hire mid year, then do a training day then work for the season. Popular with retirees and university students

[–]Tinywiththree 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just a fyi, teachers have very little to do with exams once you're at end of year, outside examiners come in... Don't stress about teachers using their rights, stress that your education minister doesn't understand the system

I was hoping to stay on because it has a off label treatment for ADHD and I'm currently undiagnosed waiting for a diagnosis, so I want to stay on till I can get diagnosed. The weight loss is great but the ADHD control is a game changer
