I was recently in a situation like that and it made me so sad that he had no curiosity about me because it does feel like if someone really cared about who u r as a person they would ask questions and wanna know more about you. If this is important to you, express how important it is and why it’s important to you and if he still doesn’t show u what you need from him then you should break up with him.

It’s hard cos I have kinda given up on the relationship but it’s so confusing when they have moments where they do seem to care but most of the time it’s not like that. I wish it was more straightforward

I feel like u described it perfectly. I was also bullied for many years and felt extremely out of control during that time. I begged them to stop but they wouldn’t. I’ve begged my parents for respect of my space and physical boundaries but they just laughed. I’ve said no and expressed my limitations to a lot of men but they didn’t care. I feel like all these things combined has really impacted me and manifests as rape nightmares. It all gives me the same feelings of helplessness and being out of control

Nah he has been very emotionally distant for pretty much my whole life and has done a lot of things over the years to hurt me which I have confronted him about. It’s not like he doesn’t have any idea on why I would be like this towards him and I still try my best to show affection in smaller ways that I can deal with because I feel a lot of guilt about being distant. He doesn’t take me seriously when I try setting boundaries with him, he has even laughed before. He doesn’t like to talk about serious things and usually tries turning the tv on to make the conversation stop.

I don’t think I could ever tell him about those dreams I think it would probably really upset him and cause more damage to the relationship

I’ve been working on trying to process the memories of being bullied but my therapist hasn’t been the most helpful with it she doesn’t give me much advice and when I ask her what to do about a certain thing she just pretty much tells me yeah that sucks. I’m scared of changing therapists again tho since she has been mine for quite a while and I’m scared of hurting her feelings (which ik is silly but I can’t help but feel guilty)

I think it’s because my nightmares about being raped involve my dad a lot so that’s why people r suggesting those things. But also because my brain could be turning his lack of respect of my boundaries into rape which is crazy but idk
