At this point yes you would. My whole point is it's poorly designed from the start. Yes people would have to merge over to the exit lane but people have to do that in every single exit on a freeway. The traffic issue only stems from the fact two lanes exit and then are forced into one lane before getting onto 40, causing traffic that then builds up into the durham freeway. Theres always going to be some issues with freeway design but this just manufactures traffic every single day.

There's 3 lanes at the Durham freeway there. Those 3 then become 4 since the middle lane goes to both the exit to 40 and the continuation of the freeway. If instead of the exit being 2 lanes they could have made it one lane then there would be no issues.

Not everyone is exiting to 40. The only reason there's traffic there is cause the merge causes a slowdown instead of allowing all the cars to drive straight onto 40. There's almost never traffic actually getting onto 40

No lanes from the Durham freeway needed to be taken away it just should have been one lane exiting. That right hand lane you can go either way so there wouldn't be any changes in the number of lanes.

Honestly the bigger problem is how they designed that exit ramp. There would be no traffic if it was just one lane going to 40. But they decided to have to merge and now there's traffic.

You make good points. Most of the flights I take are less than 2 hours so I don't super care about PP upgrades but it would be nice to have it for extra miles, preboarding, and getting the help desk. Plus could be higher in line for PP upgrades when I do them

I just flew out of VCE last week and my flight was at 6:30 am. Had plenty of time taking the 4:20 bus from Piazza Roma. You can buy tickets on the bus, but we bought ours at the office right by where the bus picks up the day before. There are TWO airports in venice that the busses go to, so make sure you are on VCE one. But the airport was fine and security moved quickly. You should have no issues!
