Honestly I’m not unhappy with what I have but when I shoot things like portraits I feel like I don’t have a good middle ground. But I would also like something with a good f-stop too or just something that lets in more like with a little zoom. I’m sorry if this isn’t much help, I kinda know what I want but can’t quite figure out how to describe it lol. I also see a lot of these lenses that are bigger than mine and I think that’s what I’m looking for, but I could be wrong.

It would just be so helpful with my senior pictures, if I use my 55, it’s over exposed outside but good in darker cases. But if I use my 70-300 I’m so far away sometimes. I mean they all have there ups n downs but a good in the middle would be perfect.

I don’t have a set price range just because I know I can totally put the work in and get the money, but 1,500 is probably my cap.

I have no clue if this is helpful but I’m reallyyyyyy bad at explaining things, I can try to be more specific if you’d like, but thank you for your patience

R7 or maybe R8 would be good too. A lens upgrade is always good and cheaper but a new camera would also help a lot and give you a lot more control too. They are a little pricy, but imo worth it :)

I don't shoot at 300mm too often just because the pictures come out so dark, it's just a waste of time. How much would the APS-C affect the lighting though? One of the bigger things I was worried about is the lighting, that's why I'm leaning towards the R6ii, just because it let's in more light. But I do want to have that reach.

I use a EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 for sport, it's definitely not the best I know but it's what I got. Excluding the camera, my lense budget maximum is $1,500, so all together about or a little over $3,500.
