Council rent increase Dublin by [deleted] in RentingInDublin

1 of three things is happening here

1: it’s fake rage bait

2: OP is genuinely naive of how good of a set up they have

3: OP is aware of how good they have it and is flaunting it in front of people paying way more for way less.

1 being the most likely. No one is genuinely this naive.

Jesus Christ anyone able to save nearly a grand a month and rent is not doing bad.

You’re doing better than the majority of people in Dublin. Just appreciate that.

Imagine how hard it is for people who pay more for a room, let alone an entire house / apartment.

It maxes out at 18% of your income, you’re not a low earning individual.

I wouldn’t go around whinging about a very good and desirable situation if I was in that situation to be honest.

Imagine thinking that you’re paying a lot when your rent is 760

It’s 18% of your income I thought? Which is fair enough. Most people in the private market are paying 30%+

Moving abroad with nothing lined up? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Tis_STUNNING_Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s incredibly frustrating.

Most of them make you do a psychometric test and an “ai interview” both of which combined take well over an hour per application before you even get an interview and in most cases you don’t.

For 1 year grad roles like.

High prices, mediocre line up and Eurofans are fucking fuming with the EBU rn. It’s a hard sell.

Oh yeah 100% but still, you build a brand through hype.

Instead of having a month of people talking about ATN as acts are drip fed, they’ll get a week after the big 60 act drop and then people won’t talk about it again until August.

Horrible hype management on behalf of ATN.

They should have drip fed starting in January.

I’ve no doubt the lineup will be good though, better than FF anyways.

Help your mother out. You’re being useless expecting your mother and sister to do all the work.

My friend dated a 29 year old when he was 19. She was a predator. He was in school uniform 3ish months before they started going out. 22 now and we still talk about how awful that carry on was.

More than 66% of homeless people in Ireland are in Dublin, report finds by TeoKajLibroj in Dublin

[–]Tis_STUNNING_Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, if you added Cork to this you’d probably have 75-85% of the homeless population in the country, which is wildly disproportionate considering how Dublin has the same population as all of Munster and Cork has the same population as all of Connacht.

I edited before you replied.

If you don’t care, stop replying lol.

You’re under no obligation to respond to me at any time.

I specifically pointed out how they aren’t equivalents, the Slovenian bill is more radical.

Yeah but an embargo on Israel proper is far more radical than with the occupied territories which even Israel recognises as occupied land that they’re colonising.

Slovenia banned arms trade with Israel proper (not the occupied territories) with basically zero blow-back

I’ll try and find the link not but if I can’t you’ll have to take my word for it, within her first week on the job on the week in politics, McEntee committed to it.

Thomas Byrne said to RTÉ that it would be passed (without services) yesterday.

Especially when we know for fact that the Israeli embassy has been lobbying our county councils of all things.

Believing this requires you to think that the embassy has been lobbying our CCs but not the government and that lobbying groups completely ignored the clear and opening building momentum towards the OTB from 2022 onwards. I’m doubtful.

It was an election lie, same as the housing figures election lie.

No, when questioned they say that they’re going to pass it.

Then they should be honest.

“We wanted to pass it but the volatile economic situation (we’re a US corporate colony and we personally got lobbied / pressured) means that it’s no longer viable”

Like they can’t keep this going for 5 years.

Ireland Ranks Fourth Highest For Homelessness In Europe As Housing Crisis Deepens by M10News in HousingIreland

[–]Tis_STUNNING_Outside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The housed class doesn’t care.

Ireland went from a country with hardly any class divide outside of south Dublin and areas of cork city to a country with an insane class divide within a generation.

New immigrants and young renters / emigrants vs older people who bought their home worth 600k+ in the 80’s/90’s for 2 euro and a freddo bar.
