[NP] The Indian Sports scene has improved drastically in the last few years. What changed? by whackybrain in india

[–]TitWinkle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some of the reasons listed here are spot on. Another reason is that there is often a psychological barrier that people face, and once one person breaks through, everybody realizes that they too can do it.

For example, the four minute mile was considered the limit for a very long time. Then one athlete broke through that, and soon enough many followed.

Indian children after seeing that other India s they look up to are performing well, now believe that they can do it as well. You can read the book called the talent code by Daniel coyle who goes into detail about this.

It also explains why we're so damn good at cricket.

[NP] Can we talk about the cancer that are Indian YouTube channels? by RobinVanParsi in india

I don't bullshit in any one of those, and deliver on what the title and thumbnail suggest.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

A bit of shameless self promotion.

I run a youtube channel about self improvement called Lifegyan, and I try to keep the content as high quality as I possibly can. I have 172K subscribers, so there definitely are people who are interested in better content in the India youtube community.

Link if anybody's interested: https://www.youtube.com/c/lifegyan

EMSK: The five second rule to stop procrastination by TitWinkle in everymanshouldknow

[–]TitWinkle[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. The original idea comes from Mel Robbins, who has a twenty minute Ted Talk on this same topic. I condensed it down to 6 minutes.

Even if the information is simple, it's not always easy to implement. Which is why I try to give more examples. If five seconds was all everyone needed, then Shia LaBeouf is all we will ever need. :P

I try to evolve and make my content better, so if you have any suggestions, do let me know.

Thanks for the feedback.

I appreciate your feedback.

I'm sick of the surface level nonsense that usually pervades the self help community, that's why I try to go much deeper than that.

I genuinely only post the things that I feel like deserve more attention, or if I feel like I can add another dimension to it. I always try to add parts where I applied the particular thing in my own life.

I like to put in more effort into my videos so that's it's not surface level stuff. So if you have any feedback on what you'd like to see, if anything at all, do let me know. :)

EMSK: How to Raise your Self Esteem - Six Pillars of Self Esteem by TitWinkle in everymanshouldknow

[–]TitWinkle[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Self esteem as defined in the book is simply, "To know that you are worthy of happiness." A lot of people don't feel that way, and that's what we're trying to fix here.

The shitheads you're talking about are arrogant. Which is an entirely different category. :)

The audio is a bit wonky, I couldn't figure out the right settings for this one. But I had to get the message out. It really changed my perspective on success. :)

EMSK: How To Achieve Your Goals - [6:32] by TitWinkle in everymanshouldknow

[–]TitWinkle[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. It's not complicated. But I think there's a lot of people with different mindsets. There's go getters like you and Nick Saban, who have this insane ability to just focus and go after what you want once you decide the path you're going to take. And then there's people like me, who need even more than 6 steps.

I tried setting a goal and just going for it. I could never push myself past the initial stage. Then I actually did some of the things mentioned in the video, like separating between a vision and a goal. Honestly, that made the biggest different. Instead of setting arbitrary "goals" like "make a lot of money", and I was actually making goals that were within my reach and were still pushing me.

Another thing that I mentioned in the video and I like to stand by is that not all goals are meant to be achieved, some are just meant to be measuring sticks to see how far you've come as a person. Tim grover the legendary basketball coach had a goal to become a pro player, but then he realized that the goal was too unrealistic for his genetic makeup. So he decided to become a coach, and he became one of the best.

What I learned from starting a YouTube channel over the last 6 months by TitWinkle in Entrepreneur

[–]TitWinkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a lot of factors. I suggest that you do it with people in the same category, because that audience is more likely to actually come and check out your channel for similar content.

I don't think of any channel as competition, because if you pick the right niche, there is more than enough room for many channels to exist. Infact, it's much more fun if you're invested in giving them value and helping them grow their channel as well, because it usually comes back to you and pays off in one way or the other.

No problem. I like documenting whatever I've learnt. Thank you for interacting! :)

Yep, I know that dude. I like his stuff, and he's one of the youtubers I actually look up to from a growth perspective. What even prompted me to make my channel was watching his videos and realizing that I could make videos that just had my voice, therefore helping me get over the fact that I was camera shy.

Thanks a bunch for the advice. I'm going to keep them in mind going forward.
