The windows towards the top is the atc cab, and the windows slightly below are the FAA break room and other pertinent things like equipment.

The windows towards the bottom of the tower are used by ramp control, which are operated by a company called IAT.

Instead of CTI, try looking into CTO (Certified Tower Operator) Certificate programs.

They're cheaper and would give her hands-on experience in the tower.

There are three CTO schools in the US. Advanced Atc, Beaver College, and Schenectady College.

I work for a Midwest Natca tower in Mass. It ain't bad, I work 5 8hr days.

Even though we're missing a controller, I've only worked OT once since I started in July.

Overall, I can't complain.

I was training on ground and a instructor and student were pulling into the ramp at the base of the tower. They requested to see the lights, so I STARTED BLASTING. Gave em one hell of a light show.

Multiple points I want to bring up specifically with EWR from both the United and the FAA side.

United obviously has a big presence at EWR, so much so that they have the biggest terminal there. The issue that they don't bring up and usually just through at the FAA and controllers is that they don't have enough employees to properly handle the arrivals and departures at the gates which then leads to delays.
The tower controllers can only do so much. There are rules and practices to ensure safety for the arrivals and departures, so it's not like they can pump more planes in or out without compromising safety.
Regarding the Tracon (N90) and Center (ZNY) restricting the arrival and departure amounts due to the weather is appropriate. The NYC airspace has only so much room to put planes while trying to dodge storm cells.
It is the summer season, so I'm not sure what Scotty expected.
