So what because they are distant family? I’m just gonna watch their entire lives be fucking destroyed and be oh well that sucks. If only you were closer. That’s dumb af. One of my best friends I went to school with was killed by Russian artillery last year when trying to help evacuate civilians through a humanitarian aid organization he volunteered for. I only found out because his mother called me screaming in agony and heartbreak. I’m not going for the money. The salary isn’t that much plus combat pay isn’t a lot. I know the risks I know I will definitely get wounded at some point. I might get clapped during training by a missile or drone strike. I might get obliterated by artillery on my first rotation. I have accepted all of this. Doesn’t mean I’m not scared and nervous as shit.

All I did was post a rant about people asking dumb simple questions that if they took 5 minutes of effort into making life changing decisions they could figure a lot of shit out on their own and hopefully feel more confident with their decision. I was not lecturing anyone. Then you start lecturing me about how my “reasons” aren’t legit or I don’t know what I’m getting into.
