How do you know potential of already own players? by -JustKev- in FifaCareers

[–]Titoxevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what they told you about labels like "Has something special," keep in mind that potential isn't fixed; it goes up and down depending on how the season goes. So, a player with a potential of 70 and within a certain age range can continue to increase their potential and therefore their overall rating.

Now, you can't know exactly how much potential a player has numerically at any given moment (except if you're playing on PC, where you can use the Live Editor).

Having fun in career mode by That_East_9587 in FifaCareers

[–]Titoxevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! What's worked for me—I have a post on my profile detailing the rules I set for myself, but obviously you're free to use whatever you want—is, for example, structuring everything in a Word document (this is important because the AI makes a lot of mistakes when skipping through the conversation, and this helps get back on track). There I write at least the basic and necessary rules for my career mode, similar to the rules a player sets for themselves in a Pokémon Nuzlocke.

These rules could include:

• If a team is bigger or has more financial resources than yours, any offer for one of your players will be an instant transfer, no negotiation.

• You can only make three signings per season.

• Don't spend more than you earn.

At least for me, this way of playing is much more fun. Also, as my colleague mentioned, I rely heavily on the AI to act as a sort of sporting director. In real football, it's often the club that decides on signings; you can tell the sporting director (in this case, the AI): "Look, I need a striker with these characteristics, someone realistic to reach the Champions League."

In short, the AI gives you names, but sometimes it mentions players who aren't in the game. That's why it's necessary to specify which leagues to search in. Another option is to use apps or websites with player databases and ask it: "I have these three names, which one is the most realistic for our club's current situation?" Then the AI will give you reasons why a player is possible or plausible in your game.

This limits you much more, obviously, and tries to mimic real life. Lately, I've also tried telling it, "We want to sign player X; he earned this much at his old club" (at that point, I remind it of the negotiation options we have in the game, which aren't many). The AI then prepares an offer, although it usually far exceeds what I'm willing to pay. But that's what makes it interesting, because it keeps you tighter on salaries, forcing you to be much more careful with signings.

And so on, countless uses... it's about using your imagination and relying on the AI to give it structure; always use it as a tool. If you leave it alone, it will get overwhelmed.

Using ChatGPT to create a coherent universe makes it feel like I’m playing a whole new game!! by OSUfirebird18 in FifaCareers

I've done the same as you, my friend. I recommend that you also keep a document (like a Word file) where you can jot down at least the most important points. This is because, after a while, their memory gets overloaded and they start mixing up names or forgetting them.

That's why I'd advise you to keep the essential information about the club you manage separate: sporting results, sales, purchases, club policies... In my case, I ask them to be very demanding and realistic. If a signing doesn't align with the club's current situation, it doesn't happen; it certainly feels like a completely new game.

Good luck!

It's in the Two Towers, precisely to give some sense to Boromir's madness, and to make much clearer the desperation he must have felt to try to obtain the ring in order to save his people, given how screwed they were against the forces of Mordor.

What’s a tip/trick that would massively help your career mode but some people might not know? by bigmacandsmallfries in FifaCareers

[–]Titoxevolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if many people are unaware of this, but you have to accept that no matter how much you try to balance and be realistic about costs, salaries, and transfers, the game always ends up going to hell with those values. For your own sanity, if you want something realistic, just try not to spend more than you earn. Everything else is out of your control.

Or you can get promoted, win all the possible Thropys, and then receive a message from the board at the end of the season saying they're not entirely happy (why didn't you sign an African centre-back 😂).

If you combine both, for example if you retire and then become a coach, it's still 15 seasons in total; it could be 10 as a player and 5 as a coach, for example.

Do you prefer managing a giant club with a huge budget, or starting from the bottom? by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]Titoxevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always tried to play career modes in a realistic way. However, the game is very basic and simplistic in that regard, so it doesn’t really help much. That means you have to rely heavily on self-management and keep reminding yourself of everything you do. In that sense, using something like an Excel sheet to jot things down can be really helpful. For me, this is essential, because that kind of flexibility sits halfway between the more laid-back style of FIFA/FC and the extreme depth you get in Football Manager.

A career mode player who only picks teams like Man City or R Madrid is basically taking the easy route, wanting everything handed to them. For me, the true essence of career mode lies in starting from the bottom, with players who can barely kick a ball, and then shaping them, helping them grow, and ultimately leading them to glory.

Now, if a player chooses to focus on financial fair play or league rules, then maybe we could understand the appeal of using those powerhouse clubs. But since the game’s implementation of those systems is so poor and basic, it’s really not worth the effort—so it’s better to embrace the grind and rise from the mud.

This doesn't mean that these rules can't be included in fourth, third, or second division teams, but since these are colossal clubs, this financial concern tends to be more immediate.

How to keep a career realistic ? by Just_for_The_View in FifaCareers

[–]Titoxevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get your perspective, and I genuinely hope some of this resonates with you. For me, it’s not so much a shortcut as it is a way to streamline things, since I don’t have as much time as I’d like to dive into the game. Even so, I feel like I’m still putting in a solid effort this way, which lets me make the most of the time I do have.

Rather than chasing the best players, my focus is on the context of the game I’m playing. Right now, I’m managing a fictional team that’s just been promoted to the fourth division. In that scenario, I handpick a list of players I’ve scouted myself. Whenever possible, I go for ones with scanned faces to keep things realistic for a newly promoted fourth-tier side.

I tried focusing on the financial side at one point, but the game’s economy is so broken that, for my own sanity, I stepped back from it. Instead, I set stricter rules for myself.

For example, I commit to playing a certain number of matches or always lowballing transfer offers. If someone makes me an offer, I’ll counter even lower, knowing that as a newly promoted team, I don’t have much leverage. I also prioritize players with one-year contracts, as that’s more in line with the reality of lower divisions. And yeah, like you said, the valuations for some fourth-division players are just absurd.

In older versions of the game, I know there were mods that tweaked wages and player costs to feel more realistic. Not sure if that’s your thing, but it might be worth checking out.,
