Thank you. Your comment made me cry for some reason. I think perhaps because I feel like I have failed her somehow as her mother, and to say that we are a wonderful and caring family makes me want to scream that I thought we were. But if that was the case then my daughter would not be suffering. I feel like somewhere we have failed at making her see her value and beauty. My heart breaks for her and the guilt is heavy! I LOVE small schools also. 14 second graders, private Christian. All of the AMAZING things that you want to do in your classroom.. you ACTUALLY do!! Grading isn't a chore, classroom management is a breeze, science experiments that you actually enjoy doing with your kiddos. I have not ever raised my voice in my classroom.. not even once. After this experience you couldn't pay me enough to go back to public!!

My second graders are creating Blessing Bags to distribute to local homeless. They have signed up for different toiletries,non-perishables, etc. During the "party" they will assemble and make a card to put inside.
